Home invasion: Montgomery County police are investigating a home invasion and robbery Monday night in the Peppertree Farm community in Wheaton, police said.

A 30-year-old man said two men ran up from behind and pointed a gun at him as he was unlocking his front door in the 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court about 7:15 p.m., police said. The men forced him inside, and the victim told his girlfriend to take her three children into a bedroom. The victim was forced to lie on the ground in another bedroom while the two men removed a safe from the closet, police said. No one was injured. The victim told police he kept only personal papers in the safe.

Murder charge: A 31-year-old man was found pinned under an automobile yesterday in Southeast, and the 26-year-old woman operating the car was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death, D.C. police said.

Marquetta Jordan of the 5300 block of Chillum Place NE was charged in the death of Clayton Carter of the 2700 block of Jasper Street, where he was found dead about 4:30 p.m. A police spokesman said the woman told police that the two were romantically involved.

Shooting victim dies: A 37-year-old man who was shot last month in Southeast has died of his wounds, D.C. police said yesterday.

David Walker of the 1200 block of Morse Street SE was wounded in a shooting about 3:25 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 400 block of Mellon Street SE, police said. Walker was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he died of his wounds early Monday, police said.
