With the flu season nearing, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a record 100 million doses of flu vaccine will be available this year, the majority of them shipped to doctors' offices by the end of next month.

Loudoun Healthcare's Mobile Health Services will administer flu shots throughout the county for $20 starting Oct. 6 at the following locations:

* Oct. 6, 2 to 9 p.m., Cascades Homeowners Association, 47620 Saulty Dr., Sterling.

* Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., SterlingFest, 120 Enterprise St., Sterling.

* Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Christian Fellowship Church, 21673 Beaumeade Cir., Ashburn.

* Oct. 11, 3 to 8 p.m., Loudoun Hospital Center, 44045 Riverside Pkwy., Leesburg; 4 to 9 p.m., Ashburn Farms Homeowners Association, 21400 Windmill Dr.

* Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cascades Senior Center, 21060 Whitfield Pl., Sterling.

* Oct. 13, 2 to 7 p.m., town of Middleburg, Route 50, in front of the Safeway.

* Oct. 14, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Loudoun Valley Community Center, 320 W. School St., Purcellville.

* Oct. 15, 5 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 8 p.m., Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion, 20585 Ashburn Village Dr.

* Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lucketts Community Center, Route 15.

* Oct. 17, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Patterson Building parking lot, 1 W. Loudoun St., Round Hill.

* Oct. 29, 2 to 8 p.m., Sugarland Run Homeowners Association, 200 Greenfield Ct., Sterling.

Flu shots will be administered by the mobile health unit's registered nurses to people 4 and older. Children ages 4 to 18 and pregnant women must have a doctor's prescription. Children must also have signed parental consent.
