Register to Vote by Oct. 12

Anne Arundel County residents have until 9 p.m. Oct. 12 to register to vote in the Nov. 2 presidential election.

Voter registration applications are available at the Anne Arundel County Election Office, 7320 Ritchie Hwy., Room 200, Glen Burnie; the State Board of Elections, 151 West St., Suite 200, Annapolis; all branches of the Anne Arundel County public library; and various Motor Vehicle Administration offices.

Cancer Prevention Seminar

North Arundel Hospital will sponsor a seminar on cancer prevention from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Brooklyn Park Senior Center, 202 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park.

Chris Crabbs, manager of the hospital's cancer support services, will discuss cancer risk factors, prevention and treatment.

Bereavement Group

Hospice of the Chesapeake, 450 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, will host a six-week bereavement support group for widows and widowers younger than 50 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, starting today through Nov. 4. Registration costs $25. Widows and widowers whose spouses were cared for by the hospice are not required to pay the registration fee.

Hospice of the Chesapeake is a nonprofit organization that provides hospice and bereavement care services for Anne Arundel and Prince George's County residents.

Flu Shots Available

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health will hold flu vaccination clinics for children from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Odenton Health Center, 1370 Odenton Rd., Odenton.

Adults can drop in for a flu vaccination at the following locations:

Oct. 22
