FALL REC LEAGUE: The Northern Virginia Hoop Fest Fall Recreation Basketball League, sponsored by Northern Virginia Youth Basketball, begins Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center on Little River Turnpike. The league is for children in grades 5-7, and it runs through Dec. 4. Teams (with a maximum of eight players) will play 10 40-minute games on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. Teams and individuals are welcome. The team registration fee is $600, and the individual registration fee is $80. FALL TRAVEL LEAGUE: A Fall Travel League, for sixth- and seventh-grade teams, will start Oct. 11 and run through Nov. 29. TURKEY SHOOT OUT: The sixth annual Turkey Shoot Out Lax Tournament, a boys' and girls' varsity-level tournament, will be held at Oakton High on Nov. 20.
