Art at Quiet Waters
Works by members of the Baltimore Watercolor Society will be on display through Oct. 24 at the Willow Gallery at Quiet Waters Park. The society, founded in 1885, promotes the use of watercolor and other aqueous media for contemporary and traditional paintings, illustrations and logos. The exhibit includes impressionistic landscapes, seascapes and still lifes and abstract works. On view in the park's Garden Gallery is an exhibit of works by winners of this year's Annie Awards. Bebo Norman will perform music from his latest CD, "Try," at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Mariners' Church in Annapolis. The concert is a stop on Norman's nationwide tour, which opened Aug. 21 in Texas. The Christian rock singer, originally from Georgia, has released four other albums: "Myself When I Am Real," "Big Blue Sky," "Ten Thousand Days" and "The Fabric of Verse." Christian rock singers Bethany Dillon and Jason Morant also will perform during the concert. Dillon recently released her first album, "Bethany Dillon," which combines pop and rock music sounds. National Park Service historian Frank O'Reilly will lecture about the Battle of Fredericksburg tomorrow and lead a bus tour of sites associated with the Civil War battle on Saturday. Both events are sponsored by the Chesapeake Civil War Round Table. The free lecture begins at 7 p.m. in Room 219 of Anne Arundel Community College's Cade Center for Fine Arts. The tour bus will leave at 8 a.m. from the Cade Center. Registration for the tour costs $40 and includes the bus trip, lunch and a beverage.
