Skunk Attacks Man, Woman
MOSBY WOODS DR., 10000 block, 1:45 a.m. Sept. 21. A man, 37, found a skunk in his kitchen eating from a pet cat's dish and tried to shoo it with a broom. The skunk bit him on the leg and ran away. Police were unable to find it. The man's wound was cleaned and bandaged by emergency rescue personnel, but he reportedly refused further treatment.
A few hours later, the skunk ran from beneath a bed and bit a woman, 45, on the foot. The man killed the skunk with a stick. It tested positive for rabies. The man and the woman received rabies vaccinations, and eight pet cats received rabies booster vaccinations.
Cat Bites Veterinary Employee
PICKETT RD., 3800 block, Sept. 20. A cat bit a male employee on the finger at an animal hospital as he attempted to place the animal in a cage. The cat, which had a current rabies vaccination, was placed under a 10-day quarantine at home.
