A Groundbreaking

For Business Park

The Steeplechase 95 Business Park will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Class A business park at the new Ritchie Marlboro Road interchange on the Capital Beltway includes industrial, office, flex and retail opportunities on 110 acres. Aris Melissaratos, Maryland secretary of business and economic development, will speak on behalf of Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. (R). Also expected at the event are Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson and Samuel H. Dean of the County Council.

Sales Seminar

The Baltimore/Washington Chamber of Commerce is offering "TIPS: Techniques and Ideas for Professional Salespeople," from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The day's topic is "The Second Best Way to Increase Sales." At this monthly motivational meeting, salespeople and business owners may learn new sales techniques and share creative ideas. The session will be held at the chamber office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel. There is no charge for members; $20 for non-members. From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. next Thursday, chamber representatives will hold an orientation program for businesses in the Baltimore/Washington corridor to learn what the group has to offer. Citizen's National Bank and Expressions Catering by TH Elliott's will host a German-themed "Oktoberfest Mixer" at 5 p.m. next Thursday at Citizen's National Bank, Market Place Shopping Center, 3314 Superior Lane, Bowie. You may meet with others in the business community and network with members of the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce and enjoy some food, a glass of wine or German beer. Advance tickets are $15; $10 for Chamber of Commerce members. Tickets purchased at the door are $15 for everyone. Reservations are required by Friday.
