DALE ST., 100 block, 9:40 p.m. A stranger shot a man, 25, in the upper body and a leg. Police unsuccessfully searched for the assailant. The man was treated at a hospital.
QUAKER LANE, 1200 block, 1:30 a.m. Sept. 28. Police investigated a report of a fight and found two injured men, 22 and 24, in a parking lot. One had severe bruises on the face and ribs and was taken to a hospital. The other had a cut on a hand and reportedly refused treatment. The men said that a group of males beat them with baseball bats. During the assault, one assailant pointed a shotgun at them. The assailants reportedly fled in a white Acura, a white Geo Tracker and a maroon Caprice. Officers found the Acura at Glebe Road and Commonwealth Avenue, stopped it and arrested two occupants. A Falls Church man, 35, was charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding and two counts of brandishing a firearm. A Fairfax County youth, 15, was charged with two counts of malicious wounding and one count of criminal gang membership.
WYTHE ST., 1200 block, 4:32 a.m. Sept. 28. A man, 25, was shot in the upper torso and another man, 23, was shot in the shoulder. They were taken to a hospital. No motive for the assaults was known.
COMMONWEALTH AVE., 2600 block, 5:02 a.m. Sept. 28. A man passed a female jogger, 28, then turned, chased and caught her and tried to remove her top. The woman screamed, and the man fled on foot.
YOAKUM PKWY., 300 block, 3:30 a.m. Sept. 26. A man approached a female pedestrian, 24, from behind. He grabbed and forced her into a nearby wooded area, then beat and raped her. When he fled, she walked to an apartment building. A passerby called police, who recovered evidence at the scene that led to a suspect. An Alexandria man, 25, was charged with rape.
COLUMBUS ST. N., 900 block, 5:27 p.m. Sept. 28. A woman, 32, was standing at the counter of a convenience store when a man in front of her turned and grabbed her wallet, then fled.
MOUNT VERNON AVE., 1300 block, 4:07 p.m. Sept. 27. A man with a handgun entered a restaurant and demanded money. A woman, 37, working behind the counter, was intending to comply when the man fired a shot. The woman ran into a kitchen area, and the man fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
BEAUREGARD ST. N., 2200 block, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28. Electronic equipment was stolen from a residence.
DERBY CT., 5600 block, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20. Electronic equipment was stolen from a business. Police arrested an Alexandria boy, 14, found nearby and charged him with burglary.
EISENHOWER AVE., 2100 block, 6:55 p.m. Sept. 23 to 7:30 a.m. Sept 24. Money was stolen from a business.
EISENHOWER AVE., 1700 block, 6:15 p.m. Sept. 28 to 6:30 a.m. Sept. 29. Money and electronic equipment were stolen from a construction trailer entered by forcing a rear door.
KING ST., 1500 block, 8:41 to 8:45 p.m. Sept. 24. A business was entered by forcing a rear door. An alarm sounded. Nothing was reported missing.
MERTON CT., 5800 block, 1:40 a.m. Sept. 25. A woman awoke and found a man standing in her apartment living room. The man had entered through a first-floor, unlocked, sliding glass door. The woman shouted, then ran into another room. The man left.
RIPLEY ST. N., 100 block, 6 p.m. Sept. 23 to 6:40 a.m. Sept. 24. Money was stolen from a residence.
SEMINARY RD., 4900 block, 6:15 p.m. Sept. 27 to 7:30 a.m. Sept. 28. Money and electronic equipment were stolen from a business entered by forcing a back door.
WASHINGTON ST. N., 600 block, 4:25 a.m. Sept. 26. Police responded to an alarm at a business and discovered a rear door ajar. A man was seen leaving the front of the business. Police pursued him on foot. A man, 45, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with burglary.
VAN DORN ST. S., 200 block, 8:35 a.m. Sept. 28. Telephone calling cards were stolen from a business entered by forcing a front window.
VAN DORN ST., 200 block, 1:17 a.m. Sept. 28. Responding to an alarm at a business, police found a smashed window and a brick inside on the floor. Some items were apparently missing from a window display.
YALE DR., 300 block, 10:45 a.m. Sept. 24 to 9:46 a.m. Sept. 25. A residence was entered by forcing a rear door.
YOAKUM PKWY., 200 block, 12:01 a.m. Sept. 16 to 8:45 a.m. Sept. 23. Electronic equipment and luggage were stolen from a basement storage area entered by force.

DERBY CT., 5600 block, 4:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24. A blue 1994 Mitsubishi Galant was stolen.
DUKE ST., 4400 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 21 to 6:45 a.m. Sept. 22. A red 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen.
DUKE ST., 5200 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 23 to 6:40 a.m. Sept. 24. A burgundy 1994 Lexus ES300 was stolen.
GORDON ST. S., 1-100 block, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 26 to 4:19 a.m. Sept. 27. A silver 2001 Ford Expedition was stolen.
KING ST., 1000 block, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23 to 5:45 a.m. Sept. 24. A silver 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer was stolen.
KINGSTON AVE., 1200 block, 12:15 to 6:45 a.m. Sept. 23. A black 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen.
PARK CENTER DR., 3000 block, 12:05 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 29. A black 2003 Ford Expedition was stolen.

FAIRFAX DR., 4500 block, 7:07 p.m. Sept. 28. A man knocked down a female pedestrian, 26, and grabbed her crotch and breasts. When she screamed, the man ran away.
LINCOLN ST. S., 2000 block, 11:12 p.m. Sept. 26. A woman, 26, walked out of her house after arguing with a male acquaintance. Shortly thereafter, the acquaintance's sister arrived in a vehicle, got out and confronted the woman. After the sister returned to the vehicle, a male passenger shot a gun. No injuries were reported. The passenger, a juvenile, was later identified, and a petition was issued for his arrest.
WILSON BLVD., 6000 block, 12:56 a.m. Sept. 23. A man forced his way into a home, argued with a female acquaintance, 35, and stabbed her in the chest. The woman was treated at a hospital. A Suitland man, 36, was arrested in Prince George's County and charged with malicious wounding and burglary. He was to be extradited to Virginia.
COLUMBIA PIKE, 3800 block, 10:47 p.m. Sept. 26. Officers responded to a report of a naked man walking along the road. An Arlington man, 48, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
GLEBE RD. S., 200 block, 12:50 a.m. Sept. 24. Two men entered a store, and one showed a handgun to a male clerk, 39, demanded money and took cash from a cash register. The robbers fled in a vehicle with a third man.
HARRISON ST. N., 3600 block, 3 p.m. Sept 24 to 1:10 a.m. Sept. 25. A business was forcibly entered. Nothing was reported missing.
LEE HWY., 1400 block, noon Sept. 27 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 29. A suit was stolen from a hotel room.
SCOTT ST. S., 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 28. An attempt was made to enter an apartment by picking a lock on a door.
SECOND RD. N., 4200 block. Seven pairs of shoes, three basketball jerseys and four baseball caps were stolen from an apartment entered by forcing a window.
EIGHTH RD. S., 5100 block, 10 p.m. Sept. 20 to 10 a.m. Sept. 23. An attempt was made to enter an apartment through a window.
23RD ST. S., 1100 block, 7:30 p.m. Sept 22 to 1 p.m. Sept. 25. A stereo, a toolbox and about 70 CDs were stolen from a residence.
