Dog Tangles With Groundhog
SILVER SPRING, Clearfield Rd., 4500 block, Sept. 20. A groundhog scuffled with a dog, then fled. The dog was current on his rabies vaccination but was placed under a 45-day restraint quarantine. If the dog is healthy at the end of the quarantine, there will be no concern for rabies transmission.
Injured Husky Rescued
ROCKVILLE, Artic Ave., 1 to 100 block, Sept. 21. An animal services officer responded to a call about two dogs running loose in the street. The officer restrained a dog, a black male husky, and took it to the Montgomery County Shelter, where it was treated for a sprained leg. No other dogs were found. The injured husky was to remain in the shelter for six days, then be made available for adoption.
Pets Available for Adoption
