Galilee United Methodist Church will hold an open house celebration Oct. 23 for its new gym and educational center. The gym was built in memory of Eric VanNederynen, 15, a member of the congregation who was killed by a stranger while walking on a bike path near his Countryside home in 2000. Starting at 8 a.m., a 10K run and 2K walk will be held to benefit the Child Rescue Centre in Sierra Leone.
