The Providence Center provides employment, vocational, recreational, retirement, medical day care and transportation services to more than 450 developmentally disabled adults each day. The Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Anne Arundel County responds to the needs of victims of rape, sexual assault and abuse, and domestic and family violence in the county. A Volunteer Mobilization Center is being developed at the request of Anne Arundel County's Emergency Management Office under the direction of the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County. Some of the volunteers will staff the center and coordinate other volunteers, but the majority will be referred to agencies requesting help and be trained by those agencies. The next training session for disaster preparedness and response volunteers to staff the center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. (Lunch is included.)
