Two shot: Two 23-year-old men were shot as they sat in a car parked in a Woodbridge subdivision yesterday afternoon, Prince William County police said.
The men, whose names were not released, were listed in serious condition at a hospital last night, said Sgt. Kim Chinn.
Neighbors heard three shots about 3 p.m. in the Riverwoods subdivision on Corbin Court as children from nearby schools were coming home.
Late last night, police arrested and charged Bryeem J. Stallworth, 26, of Woodbridge, with shooting into an occupied vehicle as well as other violations. Another man, David L. Stokes, 19, of no fixed address, was charged in warrants with shooting into an occupied vehicle and two other violations. He was being sought last night.
Abduction charge: A Lincolnia man has been arrested for allegedly trying to abduct an 8-year-old girl who had gone to his apartment Saturday seeking to retrieve a lost doll, Fairfax County police said yesterday.
The girl had dropped her doll onto the balcony of an apartment below hers in the 4900 block of Manitoba Drive and went downstairs about 2 p.m. to get it back, police said. Eliyas Mohamed Amin, 30, opened his door and invited the girl in, then told her to enter his bedroom and sit on the bed, they said. The girl did so, but when Amin asked the girl to lie down, she refused and tried to leave, causing Amin to grab her shirt and yank her back into the room, police spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said.
The girl soon left the bedroom and made several attempts to leave the apartment. Finally, she pulled the apartment door open, and it slammed into Amin's bare foot, distracting him enough so the girl could flee, Jennings said. Amin was arrested Tuesday and charged with abduction with intent to defile. He was being held in the Fairfax jail last night without bond.
