Rabid Raccoon Licks Man's Leg

FRANCONIA AREA, Easton Dr., 7 a.m. Oct. 1. After a raccoon licked a man's leg, animal control officers arrived and euthanized it. The animal tested positive for rabies.

People Bitten by Rabid Kitten

MOUNT VERNON AREA, Indian Dr., 9 p.m. Sept. 30. A sick kitten bit several people, who reportedly received minor injuries. Animal control euthanized the kitten, and it tested positive for rabies.

Squirrel Not Fit for Clothing Store

MAIN ST., 10300 block, Oct. 1. A squirrel entered a clothing store and employees chased it into a dressing room, where they confined it. An animal control officer netted it and released it outside.

Escaped Dog Jumps on Woman

SCOTT DR., 10700 block, Oct. 1. A female retriever mix escaped from its yard by digging under a fence and jumped onto the back of a woman, tearing her shirt. No injuries were reported.

Stray Kittens Taken to Shelter

LEE HWY., 9800 block, Oct. 7. A woman found four stray kittens near her home and left them at the city shelter. The animals will be made available for adoption.
