Driving Hot Spots

Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.

1. Wisconsin Avenue NW:

Northbound traffic is limited to one lane between K and M streets for six months. Southbound traffic is detoured to 29th, 30th and 31st streets.

2. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

Lanes will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road.

3. East West Highway:

Right lanes will be closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Connecticut Avenue and Edgevale Street.

4. Piney Branch Road:

Right lanes will be closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue.

5. Colesville Road.:

The right lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between the Capital Beltway and Franklin Avenue.

6. Allentown Road.:

The right lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday between Route 5 and Forestville Road.

7. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

The left lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Route 50 and Good Luck Road.

8. Washington Street:

Alternating lanes in both directions will be closed from 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday between Church and South Alfred streets.

9. Capital Beltway (inner loop):

The ramp to Route 1 south will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

10. Glebe Road:

The right southbound lane will be closed 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays through mid-November between Interstate 395 and Shirlington Road.

11. Springfield Interchange:

Lanes will be closed 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.

12. Old Keene Mill Road:

The road will be closed 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday between Springfield Boulevard and Backlick Road. Traffic will be detoured.

Transit Update

Metro:

Metro will hold a public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 16 at its headquarters, 600 Fifth St. NW, to talk about services, funding and expansion. For information, call 202-637-7000.
