THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BRICK CHURCH RD., 300 block, 9 a.m. Oct. 8 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 13. IDs and keys were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

GOVERNOR BRIDGE RD., 1000 block, 8 a.m. Oct. 13 to 6 p.m. Oct. 14. Clothing, liquor, a radio and audio recordings were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

GOVERNORS RIDGE RD., 800 block, 11:55 p.m. Oct. 20. Police, responding to a report, stopped a vehicle leaving a newly built residence and arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a break-in at the house. A 35-year-old man was arrested during a police K-9 search of nearby woods. Both men were charged with burglary, trespassing, destruction of property and possession of burglary tools.

Edgewater Area

ASSAULTS

ARUNDEL RD., 1600 block, 10:39 a.m. Oct. 16. Police were interviewing the victim of an attempted stabbing and witnesses when the alleged assailant returned in a maroon 1997 Chevrolet Malibu and sped toward the group. A witness grabbed a police officer, and the officer grabbed the victim, pulling each other to safety. The Malibu collided with a police vehicle, then sped away and was found abandoned in the 900 block of Shore Drive in Edgewater. Police searched the area, and an officer saw curtains moving inside a residence in the 1600 block of Fullerton Road and arrested a man as he left through a rear door. A 23-year-old Edgewater man was charged with several counts of first-degree assault, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, third-degree and fourth-degree burglary, several traffic violations and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia.

KENMORE AVE., 300 block, 2 p.m. Oct. 17. Furniture was stolen from a residence.

BALTIMORE ANNAPOLIS BLVD., 7100 block, 1:25 a.m. Oct. 19. A male who implied that he had a weapon robbed a convenience store of cash.

KING GEORGE DRIVE, 1 p.m. Oct. 18. A male wearing a hood over his face approached a woman operating a wheelchair from behind and robbed her of a brown suede purse. A police K-9 unit tracked the robber's path to an apartment complex off Cayer Drive and recovered the purse, which was missing cash.

PARKE WEST DR., 7800 block, 8:55 p.m. Oct. 17. A delivery driver was attacked after attempting to deliver food to a residence. Three males struck the driver and took the food.

WARWICKSHIRE LANE, 100 block, 9:15 p.m. Oct. 17. A delivery driver was robbed as he was returning to his vehicle after attempting to deliver Chinese food to an apartment. A gunman wrapped his arm around the driver's neck and put a gun to his head. Two accomplices helped drag the driver to bushes alongside the apartment building and robbed him of the contents of his wallet, his shoes and a cell phone. The driver reportedly suffered minor injuries to his head and neck. The original food order was fraudulent.

OLD STAGE RD., 400 block, 6:05 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Jewelry and telephones were stolen from a residence entered through a front door.

FORT MEADE RD., 3400 block, Oct. 16. A male who tried to snatch a woman's purse was temporarily deterred after she got out of her car and started screaming. In a second attempt, the male grabbed the purse and fled in a dark sport utility vehicle driven by another male.

LAUREL FORT MEADE RD., 3400 block, Oct. 8 to Oct. 13. Lawn equipment was stolen from a residence entered by cutting a door lock.

BALTIMORE ANNAPOLIS BLVD., 6800 block, 12:27 a.m. Oct. 18. A male wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and a bandanna around his face approached a commuter on the platform of a light rail station, showed a black semiautomatic and told the commuter not to move. The commuter fled toward Nursery Road, and when he looked back, he saw the gunman running away.

ANNAPOLIS RD., 1600 block, 6:06 a.m. Oct. 15. Cash was stolen from a business entered by breaking a front glass door.

BLAIR RD., 1300 block, 11:33 p.m. Oct. 19. Police, responding to an alarm, discovered that a lock on a storage trailer of a business had been cut. They found a pair of bolt cutters nearby. Police stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and recovered property from the business, burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested the driver, a 41-year-old Brentwood man, and a 37-year-old Laurel woman and charged them with burglary, malicious destruction of property, theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.

BLUFFS ISLAND CT., 1700 block, 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Oct. 14. A residence was entered by forcing a front door. Nothing was reported missing.
