What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"I want our children to succeed, to be happy, to be safe and to be grateful for their lives. Quality education is an essential part of this process. Tight budgets, rapid growth, the erosion of traditional values and poorly developed testing and accountability policies make these goals more difficult to attain. Externally generated mandates must be reasonable and adequately funded. Maintaining the quality system we have will require close coordination and cooperation among the Board of Education, the county commissioners, local secular and religious organizations, political leaders at the state and national levels and most important, families."

Why should voters elect you?

"I offer experience, integrity, dedication, a listening ear, a lifelong love of learning and a profound respect for the value of each child."
