'The Haunted Stage'

The College of Southern Maryland Theatre Company presents a journey onto "The Haunted Stage" tomorrow, appropriate for all ages willing to see spooky things that go bump in the night and experience ghouls creeping around from all corners. Point Lookout 'Spirits'

St. Mary's County Kiwanis affiliates will present the new "Spirits of Point Lookout" tomorrow and Saturday. The half-mile, 50-minute walking tour of Point Lookout State Park will feature reenactments of events during Civil War days. Visitors are reminded they may "see" spirits still said to be haunting the area. Live entertainment by Tom Wisner, games and a magic show are included along the interactive night tours. Proceeds from the "Spirits of Point Lookout" will benefit health and educational programs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of St. Mary's County, the Circle K Club of St. Mary's College and the St. Mary's Ryken High School Key Club. The walking tour is considered appropriate for youths ages 9 and older, with adults. Tours depart every six minutes starting at 7 p.m. tomorrow and 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The last tour will depart at 10 p.m., with the park closing at 11 both nights. Point Lookout State Park, Route 5 south, Scotland in St. Mary's County. $10 per person. 'Tales for a Haunted Trail'

Local businesses and organizations provide goodies and a safe trick-or-treating venue along the wooded pathways of Annmarie Garden from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in this sixth annual Halloween community event. This year, all 25 seahorses from the Seahorses by the Bay school art project will be on display. Art activities, food and music will be featured throughout the day. A silent auction of seahorse-inspired artwork and jewelry will be held in the gallery, and three of the seahorses -- "Goin' to the Beach," "The Bird" and "Galloping to Success," will be auctioned off live at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from the silent and live auction will benefit the art departments of Calvert County schools. Admission to "Tales for a Haunted Trail" is a donation of $1 per child to benefit the Calvert County Holiday Food Basket Program. Children can get into the spirit of Halloween again at "Tales for a Haunted Trail" on Saturday at Annmarie Garden. Seahorse statues will also be displayed, and some will be auctioned off.
