Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. University Boulevard:
Right westbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Inwood Road.
2. Georgia Avenue:
Left northbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Forest Glen Road.
3. East West Highway:
Right lanes will be closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Connecticut Avenue and Edgevale Street.
4. Connecticut Avenue:
Right lanes will be closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Adams Drive and Brightview Street.
5. Georgia Avenue:
The left lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between the Capital Beltway and Veirs Mill Road.
6. Annapolis Road:
The left lane will be closed in each direction Sunday through Thursday at the Capital Beltway.
7. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
The left lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Route 50 and Good Luck Road.
8. Capital Beltway (both loops):
Two left lanes will be closed in each direction 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday between Route 210 and the Wilson Bridge.
9. Franklin Street:
Road closed between South Henry Street and Route 1 beginning Wednesday for about two months.
10. Washington Street:
Alternating lanes in both directions will be closed 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday between Church and South Alfred streets.
11. Glebe Road:
Right southbound lane closed 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays through mid-November between Interstate 395 and Shirlington Road.
12. Springfield Interchange:
Lanes closed 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.
A camera system has been installed in the Metrobus Operations Control Center that allows supervisors to monitor roadways.
