ROBBERIES

RIVER ROAD AND RIVER'S EDGE DRIVE, Two men got in a taxi in the 700 block of Clopper Rd. and asked to be driven to Travilah Road. As the taxi arrived at the above location, one of the men asked for change and the other man grabbed his wallet at gunpoint. The robbers then fled on foot.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BETHESDA AVE., 4800, 1:22 to 7 a.m. Oct. 16. Cash was stolen from a video store entered through an unlocked door by unknown means.

CLUE CT., 10000 block, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered through a broken sliding glass door.

CLUE CT., 10000 block, 9:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Oct. 14. A watch was stolen from a residence entered by prying open a sliding glass back door.

CONNECTICUT AVE., 7:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

CONWAY RD., 5800 block, 8:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14. Camera equipment, tools and a toiletry bag were stolen from a residence entered by prying open a back door frame. A bicycle that had been stolen from a residence across the street was recovered at the door.

FERNWOOD RD, 9800 block, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 14. A back door of a residence was forced open. Nothing was reported missing.

FERNWOOD RD., 10200 block, 12:30 to 6 a.m. Oct. 14. A business was entered by prying open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

FERNWOOD RD., 10200 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 13 to 6 a.m. Oct. 14. Cash was stolen from a business entered by prying open a door.

FERNWOOD RD., 10200 block, 8 a.m. Oct. 13 to 6 a.m. Oct. 14. Cash was stolen from a business entered by prying open a door.

KNOLLWOOD RD., 5600 block, 7:45 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Oct. 14. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a sliding back door.

LUXMANOR RD., 11:40 a.m. to 12:37 p.m. Oct. 16. The back door of a residence was broken. Nothing was reported missing.

WISCONSIN AVE., 7200 block, 7 p.m. Oct. 15 to 6 a.m. Oct. 18. The door of a business was pried open. Nothing was reported missing.

WISCONSIN AVE., 7200 block, 7:45 p.m. Oct. 15 to 7 a.m. Oct. 18. Three laptop computers were stolen from a business entered by prying open a door.

WISCONSIN AVE., 7200 block, 8:30 p.m. Oct. 15 to 9 a.m. Oct. 17. Two laptop computers were stolen from a business entered by prying open a door.

ASSAULTS

SIBLEY TER., 11200 block, 12:40 a.m. Oct. 16. Five males kicked, beat and stabbed a Germantown man, 27, who was walking with a Germantown woman, 26. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for stab wounds. The woman was reportedly uninjured.

ZINNIA CIR., 19400 block, 1:49 a.m. Oct. 16. Several shots were fired into a front door, a front window and siding of a residence.

ROBBERIES

VALLEYSIDE WAY, 12400 block, 12:18 a.m. Oct. 18. A man pressed a shotgun to the head of a Germantown man, 52, getting out of his car and demanded his money and car keys. The motorist complied and fled on foot. The robber and a second man got in the man's vehicle and drove away.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

APPLEDOWRE CIR., 20000 block, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16. Cash, several stereos, a CD player, CDs, a DVD player and DVDs were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked bedroom window.

CRYSTAL HILL CIR., 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 20. Jewelry, computer equipment, a video game system, video games and a camera were stolen from a residence entered through a sliding glass back door.

DEMETRIAS WAY, 13600 block, 11:09 a.m. Oct. 19. Police responded to a residential alarm and found a glass panel of a front door smashed and the door open. Nothing was reported missing.

GERMANTOWN RD., 17001 block, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 to 6 a.m. Oct. 14. Several cases of beer and a cart were stolen from a business entered through a window. The cart was recovered.

OBSERVATION DR., 20200 block, 12:36 to 4:55 a.m. Oct. 6. A computer drive and monitor, fax machine and CD player-radio were stolen from a building entered through an unlocked window.

PIKESTAFF CT., 14000 block, 8 to 8:15 a.m. Oct. 11. A bicycle was stolen from an open garage.

Montgomery Village/

Gaithersburg District

ASSAULTS

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18200 block, 10:15 p.m. Oct. 15. A Laurel man, 18, was charged with possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure; and a Montgomery Village man, 23, and a Gaithersburg boy, 16, were each charged with first- and second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, all in connection with a fight that occurred in a residence at the above location.

QUINCE ORCHARD AND QUINCE MILL ROADS, 11:40 p.m. Oct. 15. A vehicle pulled up to a male pedestrian, 14, of Gaithersburg and a male passenger in the front seat spoke to the boy, then shot him between the eyes with a BB gun. The boy reportedly refused treatment for an injury. He did not recognize the assailant who shot him.

SIDE DR. W., 1000 block, 4:15 a.m. Oct. 3. A man pointed a BB gun at a tow truck driver. A Gaithersburg man was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment in the incident.

ROBBERIES

MUDDY BRANCH ROAD AND DIAMOND AVENUE W., 11:15 p.m. Oct. 16. A gunman demanded cash from a male pedestrian, 17, of Gaithersburg. The boy gave him cash, a wallet and cell phone. The robber fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DUVALL LANE, 100 block, 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 6. Cash was stolen from a residence and a bedroom door was broken.

DUVALL LANE, 100 block, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 11. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

GAME PRESERVE RD., 11200 block, 12:48 a.m. Oct. 20. A Gaithersburg man was charged with first-degree burglary, first- and second-degree assault, two counts of malicious destruction of property under $500, possession of a handgun and two counts of theft under $500 in connection with incidents that took place on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 at the above location.

HORIZON RUN RD., 19600 block, 10 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 16. An attempt was made to enter a residence through an open sliding window.

KING JAMES WAY, 17100 block, 5:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 15. A 9-mm handgun, a video game system, video games, a laptop computer, a video camera and DVDs were stolen from a residence entered by prying open a sliding glass door.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18300 block, 9:45 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Oct. 19. An attempt was made to pry open a sliding glass door of a residence.

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 400 block, 8:45 a.m. Oct. 15 to 6 p.m. Oct. 16. Cash was stolen from a residence.

STREAMSIDE SR., 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Oct. 4. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by climbing up and prying open a locked balcony door.

WATKINS MILL RD., 100 block, Oct. 12 to Oct. 17. A residence was entered and items were left behind. Nothing was reported missing.

ASSAULTS

GLEN AND PINEY MEETINGHOUSE ROADS, 11 a.m. Oct. 15. A Hyattsville man, 22, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with an assault that occurred during an argument at the above time and location.

WATKINS MILL DR., 10000 block, 4 a.m. Oct. 16. A man cut a 21-year-old man with a knife. A Rockville man, 36, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and theft over $500 for an incident that occurred at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

SCARLET OAK DR., 12900 block, noon Oct. 15 to 5 p.m. Oct. 17. A foreign coin collection, jewelry, a digital camera and portable CD players were stolen from a residence entered by prying open a door lock.

SOTWEED DR., 9800 block, 10:25 to 10:42 a.m. Oct. 16. The window of a residence was broken. Nothing was reported missing.

WETHERFIELD LANE, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 17 to 12:33 a.m. Oct. 18. A digital camera and a mini-computer were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

Silver Spring District

SEXUAL ASSAULT

SILVER SPRING AREA, Oct. 2. A Silver Spring woman reported Oct. 2 she was raped Aug. 31 by an adult male relative. An investigation was continuing.

SILVER SPRING AREA, Oct. 19. A man accosted an adult female pedestrian of Silver Spring and grabbed her shoulder and buttocks, then fled in a vehicle.

ASSAULTS

BRIGGS CHANEY AREA, 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. Oct. 15. A Silver Spring woman, 30, and girl, 12, were assaulted in their residence by an acquaintance. An investigation is continuing.

CASTLE BLVD., 13800 block, 2:50 a.m. Oct. 20. A man in a fight armed with a knife cut and scratched a Laurel woman, 20, when she tried to break it up. The man fled.

COLESVILLE RD., 8600 block, 10:27 p.m. Oct. 19. Two men at a restaurant who had been drinking and who were armed with knives assaulted each other. No injuries were reported. Police told the men how to seek charges against one another.

ROBBERIES

COLUMBIA PIKE AND TECH ROAD, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 15. A Silver Spring man, 22, at a bus stop overheard two men talking about robbing someone. He started to walk away but one of the men grabbed him. The Silver Spring man punched the assailant in the face and the assailant let him go. The assailant's accomplice then grabbed the Silver Spring man and was also hit in the face. The two men fled. The Silver Spring man was treated at a local hospital for a reportedly minor hand injury. Nothing was reported stolen.

COLUMBIA PIKE, 13100 block, 10:20 a.m. Oct. 15. A male driver pulled along side the vehicle of a Silver Spring male motorist, 38, and motioned him to stop. He showed the motorist a green badge, then took the man's wallet, searched and returned it. He then took cash from the man's pocket and fled.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 10100 block, 12:54 a.m. Oct. 19. Two men accosted a Rockville man, 57, implied they had a gun and demanded his wallet. The Rockville man gave them cash and they fled.

OUTLET DR., 13800 block, 8:15 p.m. Oct. 16. A man in a restroom at a fast-food restaurant threatened a Waldorf man, 19, with a gun. He then hit him over the head with the gun, forced him to the ground and kicked his head several times until the man passed out. The assailant took cash and fled with another man. The Waldorf man was treated at a local hospital for a head injury.

PINEY BRANCH ROAD AND FLOWER AVENUE, 11:40 p.m. Oct. 20. Two masked men accosted at gunpoint a male pedestrian, 39, of Silver Spring and forced him against a wall. The assailants demanded cash, searched him, took cash, then fled.

SYMPHONY WOODS AND OAK LEAF DRIVE, 7 p.m. Oct. 15. A man accosted a male pedestrian, 42, of Silver Spring and told him to empty the contents of his pockets on the ground. He complied and then walked away. He later returned to the scene with the police and recovered all his property.

16TH ST., 8500 block, 8:30 p.m. Oct. 18. A man in a parking lot hit a Silver Spring man, 32, took his wallet at gunpoint and demanded the personal ID number for his credit card. The Silver Spring man complied and the robber fled.

BRANTFORD AVE., 700 block, Jewelry and electronic equipment were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a back door window and unlocking the door.

CAMERON ST., 8600 block, 4 p.m. Oct. 9 to 7 a.m. Oct. 12. Cash was stolen from a business entered by prying open a door.

CHERRY HILL RD, 11400 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 17 to 10:20 a.m. Oct. 18. Cash was stolen from a business and a door broken.

MOFFET RD., 1600 block, 8 to 8:45 a.m. Oct. 14. Four boys of Silver Spring were charged with first-degree burglary, theft over $500, destruction of property and conspiracy to commit the same, in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

NORTHWEST DR., 900 block, 3 p.m. Oct. 15 to 9:18 p.m. Oct. 18. Computer equipment, carpets, a video camera, a tennis bag and tennis rackets were stolen from a residence entered by prying open a second-floor window.

OAK LEAF DR., 11200 block, 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18. Cash was stolen from a residence enter through an unlocked front door.

PLYMOUTH ST., 8800 block, 8 p.m. Oct. 16 to 4 p.m. Oct. 18. A door lock was pried open and a window was broken at a business. Nothing was reported missing.

THAYER AVE., 500 block, 12:01 a.m. to 10:22 p.m. Oct. 20 A video game system, games, DVDs and video tapes were stolen from a residence.

WILDLIFE LANE, 3800 block, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16. The front door of a residence was kicked open.

VANDALISM

ROLLING MEADOW WAY, 18200 block, 5 p.m. Oct. 22 to 1:35 p.m. Oct. 23. Residents reported vandalism to three trees at the above location. One tree had the letters "KKK" on it, another had a swastika and the other was sexual in nature.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE, 10:30 p.m. Oct 25. A woman got on a residential elevator with several other people. After everyone but a man and herself had left the elevator, the man grabbed her from behind. After noticing that the man's pants were down, she broke away, screamed and fled the elevator. An investigation was continuing.

ROBBERIES

BELFORD PLACE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE, 12:15 a.m. Oct 23. A man in a parking lot approached the front window of a cab that had just parked. The cab driver opened his window to see what he wanted and the man pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The cab driver gave him cash and the robber fled in a vehicle.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 1:43 a.m. Oct. 26. A business was entered by breaking a glass panel in a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SLIGO CREEK PKWY., 900 block, 2 to 10:19 p.m. Oct. 24. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing open a window.
