Bethesda Art Walk

Galleries in Bethesda will open their doors from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow for Art Walk, which will showcase exhibits by local, national and international artists. Honoring Native Peoples

The county will celebrate National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month at the seventh annual American Indian Festival. The event will feature Native American crafts, food, traditional songs and dances. Regalia representing several tribes, including the Navajo, Pueblo, Kiowa, Pawee, Piscataway, Cherokee, Ojibwa, Sac and Fox, and Laguna Rappahannock, also will be featured. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Marathon in the Parks

The fifth annual Marathon in the Parks will showcase the county's extensive park system. The 26.2-mile course will run mostly through parkland. The race will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Shady Grove Metro station in Gaithersburg, near Frederick and Redland roads, and finish at Woodmont and Bethesda avenues in downtown Bethesda. Proceeds will support park programs. Runners and volunteers can register online until midnight tomorrow at www.marathonintheparks.com.
