Cat Quarantined After Biting Girl

PURCELLVILLE, 15th Street, Nov. 1. An animal control officer responded to a report of a girl who had been bitten by a cat. The cat's owner agreed to quarantine the cat at the animal shelter. The girl sought medical attention.

Sick Raccoon Euthanized

WATERFORD, Wrights Lane, Nov. 1. A woman reported a sick raccoon in her barn loft. An animal control officer found the raccoon rocking back and forth. It was euthanized.

Cat Struck, Killed by Vehicle

STERLING, Loudoun Tech Drive, Nov. 5. An animal control officer responded to a report of a cat that had been hit by a vehicle. The cat had been killed, and it was taken to the shelter.

Poodle Found in Good Condition

LEESBURG, Apple Tree Drive NE, last Sunday. An animal control officer responded to a report of a dog tied up without shelter, food or water. The officer found a healthy poodle inside a home. The officer spoke with the owner and gave her a notice to comply with license requirements.

Owner Told to Leash Dogs

STERLING, Chambliss Court, Monday. An animal control officer responded to a complaint of two Labrador retrievers running loose and defecating in neighbors' yards. The officer found two healthy Labs at a home, and both had current rabies vaccinations. The owner was advised of county leash laws and license requirements.
