Volunteers and donations needed to help feed 800 families at Thanksgiving and more at Christmas. Thanksgiving requests include nonperishable holiday food. No refrigeration is available, so gift cards are preferred for turkeys and other perishables. Gently used, clean winter coats and blankets are being collected to distribute at Thanksgiving. All coat sizes, but especially children and teen sizes, are needed. New gloves, hats and mittens will be distributed in December. Cash donations are needed to purchase many items. Christmas requests include food and gift cards; filled stockings for infants and teens; gift bags for seniors (stocking and bags provided); new toys and gifts for children of all ages; new clothes for all ages; gifts for seniors and special needs adults; personal and household care items; gently used artificial Christmas trees; and holiday decorations. Items will be accepted from noon to 4 p.m. today; 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday; noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 5; and 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 6 through 8 at various sites countywide and the Vintage Park One Office Complex, 45335 Vintage Park Plaza (off Routes 28 and 606).
