Stray Puppy Impounded

MAPLE ST., 10600 block, Nov. 7. A German shepherd-mix puppy was reported running loose twice in one day. The first time, an animal control officer found the dog back in its yard. The second time, the officer found it running loose. The owner was not at home, and the pet was taken to the city shelter. The owner claimed the dog the next day after paying $25 in pickup and boarding fees and paying a veterinarian for a rabies vaccination.

Dog Reportedly Punched

WILLARD WAY, 10300 block, Nov. 10. Animal control was called about a man in a Dodge van who allegedly punched his dog in the head in the parking lot of a drugstore. When an animal control officer arrived, the man and the dog were gone. Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call animal control at 703-385-7924.
