Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. River Road:
Right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Seven Locks Road and the Capital Beltway.
2. Route 29:
Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Greyrock Drive and Noys Court.
3. East West Highway:
Left lanes closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Connecticut Avenue and Edgevale Street.
4. Connecticut Avenue:
Right lanes closed in each direction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Adams Drive and Brightview Street.
5. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Left lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Good Luck Road and Route 50.
6. Laurel Bowie Road:
Left lane closed for approximately two weeks between Grady's Walk Road and Gallant Fox Road.
7. Allentown Road:
Right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Branch Avenue and Forestville Road.
8. Route 210:
Right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Fort Washington Road and Old Fort Road.
9. Capital Beltway (outer loop):
Exit ramp to northbound Route 210 closed for about nine months. Detour uses exit ramp immediately preceding the northbound ramp, which also serves drivers traveling south on Route 210 or west on Oxon Hill Road. The detour ramp will be signed as Exit 3, MD 210.
10. Franklin Street:
Road closed between South Henry Street and Route 1 through December.
11. Washington Street:
Alternating lanes closed 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday between Church and South Alfred streets.
12. Springfield interchange:
Some lanes closed 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.
The New York Avenue-Florida Avenue-Gallaudet University Metrorail station, between Florida Avenue and M Street NE, opened Saturday.
Tip of the Week
Through Jan. 15, Baltimore-Washington International Airport has reduced parking rates at its hourly garage adjacent to the terminal from a maximum of $30 a day to $20 a day.
