Forum on New Rec Center

A public forum to discuss plans for Rockville's first community center west of Interstate 270 will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Rockville Senior Center.

A 15,000-square-foot recreation facility, called the Thomas Farm Community Center, will be built at the intersection of West Montgomery Avenue and West Gude Drive, in the Fallsgrove development. Construction is expected to start in January, with the center opening in 2007.

Residents are invited to offer suggestions on how the center should be used and to volunteer to participate in a task force that will offer recommendations on the center's design and other issues.

For more information, contact Burt Hall, Rockville's director of recreation and parks, at 240-314-8602.
