ASSAULTS

DRAPER DR., 3100 block, 12:30 a.m. May 22. A male robber attacked a 17-year-old male pedestrian. The pedestrian, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury, stabbed the robber with a pocketknife, and the robber fled with the pedestrian's cash. Fairfax City police found a suspect nearby, and Fairfax County police charged him with robbery and malicious wounding. The suspect was treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

CENTREVILLE RD., 2900 block. Gas was stolen from a service station.

DRUG DR., 100 block. Cash was stolen from a business.

FAIR OAKS SHOPPING CENTER, 11700 block. Checks were stolen from a business.

SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6500 block, 10:30 a.m. May 20. A man pushed a woman to the ground as she walked through a parking lot. The man struggled with the woman for her purse, then ran to his car.

BEAUREGARD STREET AND LITTLE RIVER TURNPIKE, May 20. A police officer checked a car's license plates after he observed its driver speeding. The 1994 Honda Civic had been reported stolen. A 17-year-old Alexandria area youth was charged with grand theft. A 20-year-old male passenger was charged with receiving stolen goods and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

COLUMBIA PIKE, 6500 block. A 2007 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen.

FRAN PL., 4900 block. A Honda was stolen.

FRENCHMENS DR., 6400 block. A 2006 Honda Civic was stolen.

McLean District

ROBBERIES

TYSONS CORNER CENTER, 8000 block, 10 p.m. May 21. Two women and a man attempted to return merchandise to a department store. When their request was rejected, they were observed stealing items. A 19-year-old Maryland woman was stopped and charged with grand theft. The man dropped merchandise and fled with the other woman. A short time later, the thieves pulled a 25-year-old woman from her Toyota, assaulted her and fled in the vehicle. The woman reportedly suffered minor injuries. The vehicle was found unoccupied May 23 in Prince George's County, Maryland.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

BUCKMAN RD., 8:15 p.m. May 24. A male school bus driver allegedly coerced a 9-year-old girl into his vehicle and reportedly sexually assaulted her. The girl escaped and reported the incident. A 47-year-old Alexandria man was charged with abduction and animate object sexual penetration.

ASSAULTS

HUNTINGTON AVENUE AND FENWICK DRIVE, 4:30 p.m. May 22. Two brothers confronted a man they had a dispute with. The three fought, and all were stabbed. The brothers fled and police found the third man, who was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. The brothers were later located and treated at the hospital. The brothers, ages 20 and 18, both of Alexandria, were charged with malicious wounding.

ASSAULTS

POPLAR ST., 4000 block, 2:33 p.m. May 18. A male was assaulted as he was selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door. A male at one of the residences cursed the salesman, then followed as he walked away and grabbed him by the throat, threatening him. The victim broke free and ran to a nearby house.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

LEE HWY., 9200 block, 9:41 a.m. May 18. Gas was stolen from a service station.

LEE HWY., 9700 block, 4:55 a.m. May 19. Police, investigating an alarm at a business, found that a front door had been forced open and a cash register had been opened and money removed. No one was found inside the business.

LEE HWY., 10000 block, 10:43 p.m. May 19. A man ordered and consumed food at a restaurant, then did not pay his bill. A 31-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with defrauding an innkeeper.

NORMAN AVE., 10700 block, 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 18. A leaf blower was stolen from a carport of a residence.

WILLIAMSBURG CT., 4000 block, March 21 to March 23. A person allegedly stole several checks from an ex-employer and cashed

them.

BROAD ST. W., 1200 block, 5:15 p.m. May 22. A woman assaulted a security officer in a grocery store while being arrested for

allegedly concealing merchandise. A 41-year-old Vienna woman was charged with assault and battery, concealment of merchandise,

possession of drug paraphernalia and

possession of heroin.

ROBBERIES

GREAT FALLS ST., 100 block, 11:21 p.m. May 17. A male forced a female to the ground and grabbed her purse. No injuries were reported.

BROAD ST. E., 1000 block, 2:43 p.m. May 19. A woman stole a scarf and a purse from a department store. A 44-year-old Arlington woman was charged with theft.

BROAD ST. W., 200 block, 11:54 a.m. May 20. A male attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a bank.

BROAD ST. W., 400 block, 12:40 p.m. May 21. A male stole a Milwaukee Sawzall, acetylene torches, a Ritchie vacuum pump, a Milwaukee battery and charger and other property from two vans.

BROAD ST. W., 1000 block, 11 p.m. May 19 to 10:10 p.m. May 20. An advertising sign was stolen from a business.

HILLWOOD AVE., 200 block, 6 p.m. May 17 to 7 a.m. May 18. License plates and a Smart Tag pass were stolen from a 2001 Chevrolet pickup.

VIRGINIA AVE. N., 100 block, 7:51 p.m. May 23. A black leather wallet containing a driver's license, credit cards and cash was stolen.

WASHINGTON ST. S., 200 block, 10:51 a.m. May 21. A man stole a drink from a convenience store. A 67-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with larceny.

WEST ST. N., 400 block, 10:30 a.m. May 19 to 6 a.m. May 20. Cash and three empty CD cases were stolen from a vehicle. Cash was also stolen from another vehicle.

ALABAMA DR., 800 block, 1 a.m. May 22. A male assaulted a 22-year-old female acquaintance. No injuries were reported.

AUTUMNHAZE CT., 1100 block, 9:55 p.m. May 22. A male assaulted two male

juvenile acquaintances. No injuries were

reported.

BARTON OAKS PL., 500 block, 3:41 p.m. May 22. A man assaulted two acquaintances, an 18-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. The acquaintances each received an eye injury. A 21-year-old Herndon man was charged with assault.

BRANCH DR., 900 block, 9:44 p.m. May 22. A male assaulted a 22-year-old female acquaintance, who received an arm injury.

CUTTERMILL CT., 1400 block, 4:25 p.m. May 19. A male juvenile broke a chair with a baseball bat and threatened a 41-year-old female acquaintance with the bat. A 14-year-old Herndon male was charged with assault and destruction of property.

MAPLE CT., 400 block, 4:13 p.m. May 17. A 12-year-old female reported being assaulted by a 15-year-old female acquaintance. No injuries were reported. The parents of both girls were notified.

MONROE ST., 700 block, 9:40 a.m. May 20. A man assaulted a 29-year-old female acquaintance, who reportedly received a minor injury. A 37-year-old Sterling man was charged with assault.

STERLING RD., 1400 block, 11:42 p.m. May 17. A male assaulted a 21-year-old female acquaintance. No injuries were reported.

FLORIDA AVE., 500 block, 10:31 a.m. May 16. A man left a taxi without paying the fare.

FLORIDA AVE., 500 block, 12:08 p.m. May 16. A man was defrauded of cash.
