Neighbor Ride, a transportation program for Howard County residents 65 and older, will hold a volunteer orientation at 7 p.m. Monday at the Neighbor Ride office, 9520 Bendix Rd., Columbia. Legacy Leadership Maryland is seeking volunteers 50 and older to work as legislative interns during the 2006 legislative session in Annapolis. Participants will be assigned to work in an office of a delegate or senator during the 90-day General Assembly session. The Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross needs volunteers to help staff blood drives throughout Maryland. Volunteers provide customer service to donors and assist in the refreshment area. A commitment of two or more blood drives (which last four to six hours each) per month is required, and volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Columbia Festival of the Arts is accepting applications for volunteers to assist with the 18th annual summer arts program, which features local, national and international performers.
