'Kids That Care Day'
Marley Station Mall encourages children to become community volunteers during the first annual "Kids That Care Day." The event will feature arts and crafts activities, face painting, giveaways and an expo of more than 20 nonprofit organizations that will offer information about volunteer opportunities for kids and their families. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Main St. Gallery will present landscapes in oil by Russian realist Yuri Bondarenko. A classically trained artist, Bondarenko is known for the detail he uses in landscapes, portraits and interiors. How to Build a Mini-Boat
Children and their parents can learn how to build a 14-inch sailboat out of plastic foam at a workshop sponsored by the Community Center. The workshop is free, but a small fee will be charged for materials. Participants can enter their sailboats in the Community Center's July 23 Mini Sailboat Regatta. Entrance into the regatta is $2 per individual and $5 per family. The workshop will be held from 7-8 p.m. Monday.
