Player of the Year
STEPHANIE CONNELLY, Northeast, Sr.
Connelly won her third state title with back-to-back rounds of 72, even par. Earlier, she won the county championship and the individual region title. The All-Met player of the year won four county titles and three region championships while playing for Northeast. After the first semester, she transferred to the David Ledbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Coach of the Year
PETER HISKEY, Broadneck
Hiskey led the Bruins to a fifth-place finish in the state tournament. After Broadneck placed at state, Hiskey teared up while talking about his seniors. They, in turn, had equally strong emotions about him. "He makes you look forward to going to practice," senior Chip Hardie said then. "He's made this fun."
CHRIS CONROY, Key School, Sr.
Respected by teammates for his long drives, Conroy won 10 of 14 matches during the season. He tied for 11th among 115 players at the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championships.
CHRISTIAN FREYMEYER, Severn, Sr.
Freymeyer finished third at the MIAA championship and won 12 of 14 matches. He will play next season at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
CHIP HARDIE, Broadneck, Sr.
The highlight of Hardie's season was also a highlight for his school. He placed seventh at the state tournament, the best individual finish ever by a Bruin. He will play for the Naval Academy next season.
KELLY LYNCH, Severna Park, Soph.
Lynch routinely shot in the low 80s, good enough for second- and third-place finishes, respectively, at the county and district tournaments.
EDDIE MILLIGAN, South River, Sr.
The team captain finished sixth in the county championship and fifth at districts. He shot a 78 in a state championship round.
BRENDAN O'BRIEN, Severna Park, Sr.
O'Brien won the county championship with a 73 at Eisenhower Golf Course and played back-to-back rounds in the high 70s at the state championship.
JOSH PECK, Broadneck, Sr.
His best round of the season came at a crucial time. At the District 5 tournament Peck shot a 76, the best score of any Anne Arundel boy, to qualify for the state championship.
MITCH VAN ZANDT, Severna Park, Sr.
The most consistent Severna Park golfer, he shot 78 or lower at the county, district and state championships and helped Severna Park win the county title.
