The Unitarian Universalist Church of Loudoun voted at a congregational meeting May 15 to become recognized by the Unitarian Universalist Association as a "Welcoming Congregation." As such, the UUCL vows to provide a welcoming place of worship to all people regardless of sexual orientation.
Bethel United Methodist Church will hold a ham and turkey dinner 5-7 p.m. Saturday. The menu also includes dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, deviled eggs and desserts. Leesburg Presbyterian Church will change to its summer worship schedule beginning Sunday. Services will be held at 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sundays through August. The Unitarian Universalists of Sterling will officially say goodbye to the Rev. Roberta Finkelstein on Sunday. Church members and friends will reminisce, share prayers and good wishes, and sing some of Finkelstein's favorite hymns and musical selections.
