Boys' Athlete of the Year
Repeat All-Extra won state titles in the 1,600 and 3,200 and was third in the 800 to lead the Tigers to a runner-up team finish at the Virginia AA meet.
His time of 9:18.53 in the two-mile run at the Southern Track Classic was the state's best among all classifications.
Cross-country All-Met will compete for Virginia Military Institute.

First-year coach led deep boys' squad to Cedar Run District championship and runner-up finish at the Northwestern Region meet.
At the state meet, Panthers capped season with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the 4x400 relay.
Boys' First Team
Josh Boyd, Gar-Field, Sr. -- One of the area's top hurdlers, he swept the 110 and 300 hurdles at the Cardinal District meet and was second in the 110 and third in the 300 at the Northwestern Region meet.
Carl Brown Jr., Potomac, Sr. -- Won the Cedar Run District and Northwestern Region titles in the 300 hurdles; he holds the district record in the event. Will compete for the Naval Academy.
Jason Driscoll, Battlefield, Jr. -- Earned all-state in the 1,600 by finishing eighth. Cedar Run runner-up in the 1,600 and 3,200 was fifth in the Northwestern Region in the 1,600.
Chris Garrett, Stonewall Jackson, Sr. -- Finished sixth in the state in the 100 meters and ran on 4x100 relay that won Northwestern Region title. Will play football and run track for Ohio University.
Nick Gehlsen, Brentsville, Jr. -- All-state in two events at Virginia AA meet, capturing third in the 3,200 and seventh in the 1,600. Fourth in Region II in the 1,600.
Matt Heidman, Osbourn Park, Sr. -- Cedar Run record-holder in the 110 hurdles holds school records in that event and the 300 hurdles. Third in 110 hurdles, fourth in 300 hurdles at region meet. Will compete for Mary Washington.
Raphael Rigaud, Manassas Park, Jr. -- Virginia A and Region B champion in the 110 hurdles. Third in 300 hurdles, eighth in high jump to earn all-region honors in both events.
Josh Rock, Potomac, Sr. -- Cedar Run record-holder in the 800 was runner-up in the event at the Northwestern Region meet. Ran leg on state champion 4x400 relay. Will run for East Tennessee State.
Jared Simmons, Stonewall Jackson, Jr. -- At Northwestern Region meet, won the 100 meters, ran on winning 4x100 relay and finished third in the 200. Eighth in the state in the 100.
Charles Swartz, Osbourn, Sr. -- Capped career with his first all-state finish, taking fourth in AAA in the 1,600. Third in the region in the 800 and 1,600, after winning 1,600 and 3,200 at Cedar Run meet. Will run for William & Mary.
Michael Vann, Potomac, Sr. -- Cedar Run and Northwestern Region 200 champion also won district titles in the 100 and 400. Fourth in the 100 and sixth in 200 at state meet, at which he ran a 48-second anchor leg to give the Panthers' 4x400 relay the state title.

Emily Arena, Osbourn Park, Sr. -- William & Mary-bound distance standout was Northwestern Region champ in the 3,200, and took fourth in that event at the state meet. Won 1,600 and 3,200 at Cedar Run meet.
Thelma Breezeatl, Stonewall Jackson, Jr. -- Finished fourth in Virginia AAA in the 100 meters and was runner-up in that event and the 300 hurdles at Northwestern Region meet. Set meet record in winning Cedar Run 300 hurdles.
Portia Davenport, Forest Park, Sr. -- First in the Cardinal District, fourth in the Northwestern Region and seventh in Virginia AAA in the 200 meters. Third in the region in the 100.
Brittni Dixon-Smith, Woodbridge, Soph. -- The Cardinal District champion in the 100 and 400 also won the Northwestern Region title in the long jump. Earned all-state honors by finishing sixth in the long jump.
Tiffany Funny, Woodbridge, Sr. -- Finished second in the Northwestern Region in the 100 hurdles and was fourth in the 300 hurdles. Cardinal District champion in the 100 hurdles.
Brittney Hazel, Woodbridge, Jr. -- Accounted for 39 points at the Cardinal District meet, including wins in the long and triple jump. Northwestern Region triple jump champion was all-state in the event after finishing seventh.
Ariene Jenkins, Woodbridge, Jr. -- Repeat All-Extra was all-state in two events, capturing third in the shot put and sixth in the discus. Region runner-up in the discus and third in the shot put.
Tasha Rivers, Woodbridge, Sr. -- Northwestern Region champion in the 300 hurdles finished sixth in that event at Virginia AAA meet to earn all-state honors. Repeat All-Extra ran legs on region champion 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Candace Robinson, Potomac, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra captured eighth place in the 200-meter dash at the Virginia AAA meet. Fifth in the region in both the 100 and 200. Will compete for North Carolina A&T.
Becky Stewart, Brentsville, Soph. -- Finished third at Virginia AA championships in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Runner-up in the 1,600 and third in the 3,200 at the Region II meet.
Wendy Stober, Brentsville, Sr. -- Earned all-state honors in Virginia AA, capturing fifth in the 800-meter run with an area- and career-best time of 2:17.77. Fifth in Region II in 1,600.

Set meet record in winning the Northwestern Region title in the 400, and she finished fourth in the state in the 200. Region runner-up in the 200.
Will compete for North Carolina A&T.

In 10th year, led one of the Washington area's deepest squads, featuring several girls who were among the area leaders in an array of events.
Vikings scored 245 points to easily win the Cardinal District meet, then finished second in the Northwestern Region and 1oth in Virginia AAA.
