The following organizations need volunteer help for a day, for a week or on a regular basis.

The Bladensburg Waterfront Park cleanup of the Anacostia River and shoreline will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Long-handled nets, rubber gloves and boat rides to and from cleanup sites will be provided. High school volunteers will be eligible for certification for community service hours. Participants are advised to wear clothing and shoes that can get muddy. Volunteers should meet at the boat ramp at 4601 Annapolis Rd., Bladensburg. Call 301-779-0371.

The Alzheimer Association's Memory Walk 2005 needs greeters and volunteers to set up and clean up stations and to help with serving food. The event is 9 a.m. June 25 at Prince George's Stadium, 4101 Northeast Crain Hwy., Bowie. Call 800-272-3900.

The College Park Cares 10k and Fun Walk needs volunteers to monitor water stations and help with registration, face painting and cleanup. Also needed are trained paramedics, police or security officers, course directors, a clown and a disc jockey. The event, which benefits Medical Care for Children Partnership, is July 4 and starts at College Park City Hall. Call Christine Floria at 240-737-1618.

The Spanish Catholic Center seeks volunteer teachers between July 12 and Sept. 29 for the English as a Second Language program at 3628 Rhode Island Ave., Mount Rainier. The time commitment is two hours a week, 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. The center will provide the curriculum, teaching materials and training; teaching experience is not required. AmeriCorps seeks coordinators to organize volunteers. A one-year commitment will begin Sept. 21. Extensive training, a $13,000 living allowance, health care and a post-service education award of about $4,700 are included. The Prince George's Volunteer Center seeks an emergency preparedness coordinator and a volunteer center development coordinator to work in the Hyattsville office.
