Prince George's County Council member Douglas J.J. Peters (D-Bowie) dedicated a memorial library for his father, Thomas R. Peters, at Brookhaven Elementary School in Rockville last week. Council Chairman Samuel H. Dean (D-Mitchellville), council member Camille Exum (D-Seat Pleasant), Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan (D) and U.S. Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Albert R. Wynn (D-Md.) attended the dedication.

The elder Peters, who died in November in a car accident, was an educator in the Montgomery County public schools. The Dr. Thomas R. Peters Scholarship Fund has been established to help Montgomery County school employees further their educations.
