Celebrate America's birthday with the Kiwanis Club's annual Independence Day Festival and Fireworks Display. Food, crafts and games begin at 2 p.m. Monday. Performances on the main stage by R&B, modern, pop, eclectic and progressive-rock bands run 2-9:30 p.m. Performances featuring a magician, puppets and balloon art will be held 3-9 p.m. on the family stage. Fireworks over Lake Kittamaqundi start at 9:30 p.m. Columbia Lakefront, Wincopin Circle, Columbia. Free. Howard Community College's Invitational Photography Exhibit, featuring students and alumni from HCC's photography program, opened yesterday and will be on display through July 28. The show includes the work of Aimee Koch, Art Koch, Noam Kowitt and Gontran Lamberty. A reception with the artists is set for 5-7 p.m. July 9.
