Victim Identified Prince George's police have identified a man who was killed Saturday night in Oxon Hill as Tyrone Earl Butler Jr.
Butler, 23, of the 800 block of Shelby Drive in Oxon Hill, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the middle of Oxon Hill Road about 10:45 p.m.
Police said they have no suspects or motive in the case.
Weapon Recovered D.C. police said they have recovered a second handgun that they believe was used in the fatal shooting of an Army sergeant last weekend in Northwest Washington.
A homeowner found the 9mm pistol Monday evening in a yard near the shooting scene. She turned it over to police, who later matched the gun to shell casings recovered from the shooting early Sunday in the 1800 block of Eighth Street NW, police said.
Police have arrested three Southeast Washington men and charged them with first-degree murder in the killing of Antrevyn Mason-Black, 24, a military police officer and Iraq war veteran.
Police said Mason-Black and a 23-year-old friend were shot after they talked to some women about two blocks from the club. The friend was wounded in the neck. Police said they recovered a .45-caliber handgun that was used in the shooting in a car the three men were in. They are searching for at least one other weapon.
Rape Charge A Springfield man was arrested Tuesday night and charged with raping and sodomizing an 8-year-old girl several years ago, Fairfax County police said yesterday.
Police became aware of the case when the girl, now 12, reported the man last month, saying that he had been approaching her at her school bus stop. She told police that between April 2001 and March 2002, the man had sexually assaulted her on several occasions when he lived in the Annandale area.
Police arrested Jose L. Mercado-Jordan, 56, of the 8300 block of Uxbridge Court, on charges of rape, sodomy and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. He was being held without bond last night in the Fairfax jail.
