HOMICIDES

ELM FOREST WAY, 12000 block, 4:30 p.m. June 14. A 23-year-old Ocala, Fla., man was charged with murder, grand larceny and credit card theft in connection with the June 14 death of 46-year-old Richard Bennett Gluckstern. He was arrested in Florida on an outstanding warrant and allegedly found in possession of Gluckstern's vehicle and credit card.

AMHERST AVE., 6100 block, 11 a.m. June 17. A gunman walked into a house and demanded cash from a 39-year-old female resident. They struggled, and the woman bit the man before he fled on foot. No property was reported taken, and no injuries were reported.

A 44-year-old man of no fixed address attempted to flee but was caught and charged with credit card fraud, forgery and uttering, attempted grand larceny by false pretense and possession of a fictitious ID.

ASSAULTS

COLUMBIA PIKE, 5900 block, 11:30 p.m. June 19. Several men began an argument with a 29-year-old man and his friend as they left a restaurant. When they attempted to walk away, one of the men cut the 29-year-old man's face. He was able to get into his car and drive to a friend's house. He was treated at Virginia Hospital Center and released.

LEESBURG PIKE, 6300 block, 11:15 p.m. June 19. A man, accompanied by several other men, began an argument with an 18-year-old man in a laundry business and stabbed him in the upper body.

WATERWAY AND POTTERTON DRIVES, 11:30 p.m. June 11. A man with a handgun assaulted two 19-year-old men as they attempted to leave a party. The man struck one victim's face with the gun and cut the other's arm with an unidentified object. Both victims fled in a vehicle.

LEE HWY., 9400 block, 8:40 p.m. Feb. 25. On June 23, two 18-year-old men were arrested in connection with two robberies that occurred in a parking garage of an apartment complex in February. A man of no fixed address and an Oakton area man who was a juvenile at the time of the robbery were charged with two counts of robbery.

ASSAULTS

SOUTH KINGS HWY., 6300 block, 11:40 p.m. June 18. A 21-year-old man was stabbed during an argument with several people in a parking lot. Police were called to a hospital when the man arrived with several wounds to his upper body.

ROBERT E. LEE PL., 3600 block, 11 p.m. June 23. A man broke into a female relative's apartment after climbing to a balcony. He then stabbed the relative, 38, and a 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl and fled through a sliding glass door. The victims were treated at hospitals. A 34-year-old man was sought by police.

ROBBERIES

BROCKHAM DR., 8300 block, 3 a.m. June 20. A masked man with a handgun robbed a 23-year-old male pedestrian of a wallet, cash and other property, then fled. No injuries were reported.

LAGUNA CT., 8500 block, midnight June 20. A man opened the driver's side door of a vehicle, pointed a gun at the 23-year-old male driver and demanded cash. A second person opened a passenger door and searched the car. They fled on foot with the driver's property.

ASSAULTS

OLLEY LANE, 4100 block, 9 a.m. June 15. A 30-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body with a pair of scissors during an argument. He was treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital. A 21-year-old Fairfax City man was charged with malicious wounding.

ROBBERIES

BACKLICK RD., 7000 block, midnight June 18. Two men with handguns robbed a 15-year-old pedestrian of a wallet.

DURER CT., 7700 block, 3 a.m. June 24. Six people in a house heard a noise outside, and when a 17-year-old resident opened the front door to investigate, a gunman and two other men entered, tied up occupants in the basement and struck some on the head or back. They then ransacked the residence and fled with cash and other property. No injuries were reported. All three men wore black clothes, a mask and gloves.

HERITAGE DR., 7800 block, 10 p.m. June 20. Two men asked a couple for cash as they walked into a store. The men demanded cash from them again as they left. The male victim was assaulted, and a knife was shown. One of the robbers fled while the victims detained the other until police arrived. A 26-year-old Annandale man was charged with attempted robbery and public drunkenness. No injuries were reported.

ASSAULTS

LEE HWY., 10800 block, 6 to 6:30 p.m. June 15. Two male juveniles pulled a male out of a vehicle where he was waiting for a friend outside a fast-food restaurant. They punched him, then stopped when the friend came out. The assailants fled in a black Yukon. The motorist was treated for facial injuries at a hospital.

LEE HWY., 11000 block, 12:01 a.m. June 19. A person in a sport utility vehicle fired a paint ball, striking an occupied vehicle.

ROBBERIES

MAIN ST., 9500 block, 11:15 p.m. June 18. A man asked to exchange an item he had purchased at a grocery store and when a cash register was opened, he pushed the cashier away, grabbed cash from it and ran.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

JERMANTOWN RD., 4000 block, 2:43 p.m. June 21. Security personnel stopped a male juvenile in a store after he placed merchandise in his backpack. Police found a knife in his pocket. He was charged with shoplifting and carrying a concealed weapon and released to a parent.

LEE HWY., 10100 block, `1:08 p.m. June 21. A purse was stolen from a vehicle in a parking lot of a business. A credit card in the purse was used at a local business.

LEE HWY., 10400 block, 10:13 a.m. June 20. Gas was stolen from a service station.

LEE HWY., 10400 block, June 3 to June 17. Two dealer license plates were stolen from an auto dealership.

MAIN ST., 9600 block, 12:57 p.m. June 16. A male placed a pair of tennis shoes under his shirt and walked out of a shoe store. When confronted by a sales person, he shouted profanity and walked away.

MAIN ST., 10000 block, 11:30 a.m. June 20. Gas was stolen from a service station.

MAIN ST., 10300 block, 7:36 p.m. June 18. A woman placed merchandise in her bag and her daughter's bags in a store, then left with her daughter. When stopped, the woman gave a police officer a false name. A 23-year-old Fairfax City woman was charged with shoplifting, assuming the identity of another person, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of burglary tools. Two children, ages 3 and 4, were released to a male acquaintance of the woman, and Child Protective Services was notified.

LEE HWY., 101400 block, June 3 to June 17. A silver and a black 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup was stolen from an auto dealership.

ARLINGTON BLVD., 9500 block, 9 p.m. June 17. Graffiti was written on a men's room wall in a business.

CHAIN BRIDGE RD., 3900 block, June 14 to June 17. Graffiti was written on a wall of a men's room at a library.

MAIN ST., 10700 block, June 17 to June 18. A person attempted to start a fire in an unlocked vehicle at an apartment complex.

MOSBY WOODS DR., 10100 block, June 14 to June 15. A tire of a motorcycle trailer in front of a residence was slashed.

CRESTVIEW DR., 1100 block, 10:19 a.m. June 17. A male, whose bicycle had been stolen, saw a man riding the bike, and the bicyclist stopped and showed a knife. A 19-year-old Herndon man was charged with assault and possession of stolen property.

FLORIDA AVE., 500 block, 9:44 p.m. June 18. A woman assaulted an acquaintance. A 31-year-old Sterling woman was charged with assault.

QUEENS CT., 1000 block, 2:23 a.m. June 16. A man threw an object at an acquaintance. A 33-year-old Maryland man was charged with assault.

ELDEN ST., 1000 block, 10:58 p.m. June 16. A police officer observed two employees of a store chasing a man who had tried to steal beer from the business. A 41-year-old Herndon man was arrested and charged with larceny and public drunkenness.

ELDEN ST., 1200 block, 7:06 p.m. June 16. Merchandise in a store was taken. A 31-year-old Leesburg man was charged with larceny.

ELDEN ST., 400 block, 2:23 p.m. June 9. A woman allegedly stole property from her employer. A 19-year-old Ashburn woman was charged with larceny.

FERNDALE AVE., 800 block, 4:33 p.m. June 18. Cash was stolen from a wallet in a locker.

JEFF RYAN DR., 1000 block, 7:16 a.m. June 15. Tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

RENEAU WAY, 400 block, 12:26 a.m. June 16. Cash was stolen.

WORLDGATE DR., 13000 block, 3:12 p.m. June 17. A bill for services at a nail salon was not paid.

VANDALISM

BALLOU ST., 900 block, 9:36 a.m. June 19. Graffiti was spray-painted on a driveway.

BARTON OAKS PL., 900 block, 1:50 p.m. June 17. Windshield wipers of a vehicle were bent, a mirror was broken and the vehicle was scratched.

CHARLES ST., 1000 block, 3:33 p.m. June 13. A window of a vehicle was broken.

ASSAULTS

MAPLE AVENUE WEST AND NUTLEY STREET, 10:02 p.m. June 20. A mini van was driven alongside a vehicle at a traffic light, and an unidentified object was thrown from the van, striking the driver's side door of the other vehicle. The van was then driven away.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CHERRY ST. SE, 100 block, 2 p.m. June 17 to 3 a.m. June 20. A prepaid cell phone card was stolen from an office in a community center.

GLYNDON ST. SE, 900 block, 5 to 11:59 p.m. June 20. A bicycle was stolen from the front yard of a residence.

MAPLE AVE. W., 100 block, 1 a.m. June 20. A window of a dry cleaning business was broken, and an attempt was made to force open an ATM door. Nothing was reported missing.

MAPLE AVE. W., 200 block, 12:23 a.m. June 23. A man took beer from a convenience store. A 34-year-old Annandale man was charged with larceny and public drunkenness.

MAPLE AVE. W., 400 block, 1:25 a.m. June 20. During a traffic stop, burglary tools were found. A 27-year-old Maryland man was charged with possession of burglary tools.
