To Discuss Voter Efforts

The political action committee of the county branch of the NAACP will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. July 26 at 9201 Basil Ct., Largo.

The program will cover efforts regarding voter registration, education and participation in advance of the 2006 Maryland legislative session and election season.

Officials Dedicate Garage

At College Park Metro

The College Park-University of Maryland Metro station's new $17 million parking garage was dedicated last week at an event attended by Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson (D), College Park Mayor Stephen A. Brayman and Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele (R).

The garage, which has more than 1,300 spaces, also serves the M Square technology park developed by the university. It was paid for by the county, the state and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

Program Offers Meals

To Children in Need

The Prince George's County Department of Social Services has opened its Summer Food Service Program for children at 135 sites across the county, including recreation centers, libraries, summer school locations and homeless shelters. Through the federal program, children from low-income families are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. For information, call 301-909-6330.
