ASSAULTS

ALFRED ST. N., 900 block, 3 a.m. July 8. During an alleged drug purchase, a male pointed a gun at a man, 37, and demanded money. The man ran away, and the robber shot him in the buttocks and robbed him of cash before fleeing on foot with another male. The injured man was taken to a hospital.

RIPLEY ST. N., 300 block, 1:50 a.m. July 9. A 17-year-old male runaway from the District went to the above location with acquaintances to meet another group for a fight. The runaway fought with another male, who pulled out a gun and shot the juvenile in the chest. The gunman and his group fled. The juvenile was taken to a hospital by his acquaintances.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

WASHINGTON ST. S., 1200 block, 4:20 to 4:35 p.m. July 11. A man exposed himself to a woman, 41, in an elevator. The woman got out of the elevator at the next floor and alerted property management, and the man got out on the same floor and fled in a stairwell. Police found a suspect, 21, in his apartment and charged him with indecent exposure.

CARJACKINGS

NORTH ALFRED AND MONTGOMERY STREETS, 7:20 p.m. July 7. An ice cream truck stopped in a neighborhood and a male entered the truck, struggled with the driver, 46, and drove the truck a few blocks. The truck struck a parked car, then stopped a block farther away. The driver grabbed the keys, escaped and called police. An Alexandria male, 38, was charged with carjacking. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

LURAY AVE. E., 100 block, 4 a.m. July 10. A male accosted a female, 27, sitting in her car, reached inside the car and took her purse, then fled in another vehicle.

MONROE AVE. E., 400 block, 4:30 a.m. July 11. A male entered a business, walked behind a counter and took cigarettes at knifepoint.

SOUTH VAN DORN STREET AND STEVENSON AVENUE, 12:29 a.m. July 12. Two males accosted a female, 23, leaving a bus and took her purse, then fled on foot.

WASHINGTON ST. S., 1000 block, 8 p.m. July 8. A male entered a gas station and struck a clerk, 47, on the head with a crowbar and took cash.

WESMOND DR., 200 block, 9:05 p.m. July 8. A group of males punched and kicked a man, 55, and his son, 21. One of the males robbed the father of a wallet, and the group fled on foot. The father was taken to a hospital. The son reportedly did not receive medical treatment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

QUEEN ST., 900 block, 11:32 p.m. July 6. Cash was stolen from a business entered by forcing a door. Three teenagers were observed inside the business after hours. The youths left on bicycles.

SHIRLINGTON RD., 2800 block, 5 p.m. July 8 to 4:30 p.m. July 11. Electronic equipment was stolen from a business entered by forcing doors.

SHIRLINGTON RD., 2800 block, 9:30 p.m. July 8 to 4 p.m. July 10. Electronic equipment was stolen from a business entered by forcing doors.

TOWER CT., 6000 block, 9 p.m. July 9 to 3 a.m. July 10. A residence was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

DUNCAN AVE. E., 300 block, 1:10 a.m. July 11. A male looked into the ground-floor windows of an apartment building.

KENNEDY ST., 1 to 100 block, 2:22 a.m. July 11. A female resident observed a male looking through her front glass door and when she went to alert a roommate, they saw the man peering into the front door of their neighbor.

MONROE AVE. E., 1 to 100 block, 12:20 a.m. July 11. A male walked around an apartment building and crouched under a window, then ran away when he was seen.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

BEVERLY DR., 1100 block, 6:45 p.m. July 8 to 11 a.m. July 9. A black 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

BRAGG ST. S., 1 to 100 block, 12:30 to 9 a.m. July 7. A gray 1991 Mercury Marquis was stolen.

COMMONWEALTH AVE., 3400 block, 9 p.m. July 7 to 11 a.m. July 8. A light blue 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

FOUR MILE RD., 800 block, 12:01 to 6:30 a.m. July 8. A blue 1998 Honda Civic was stolen.

GLEBE RD. E., 200 block, 8:30 p.m. July 7 to 11 a.m. July 8. A gold 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

GLEBE RD. W., 800 block, 5:30 p.m. July 5 to 7:30 a.m. July 6. A gray 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity was stolen.

GUNSTON RD., 3200 block, 6:20 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. July 9. A dark green 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

NORTH VAN DORN STREET AND HOLMES RUN PARKWAY, 9:09 p.m. July 8 to 9:09 p.m. July 9. A green 1993 Saturn was stolen.

OLD DOMINION BLVD., 3800 block, 11 p.m. July 10 to 3 a.m. July 11. A silver 2001 Mercedes-Benz was stolen.

ASSAULTS

ROUTE 66, 3000 block, 4 a.m. July 11. A man was shot in the leg while riding in a car. He was taken to a hospital.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

TAYLOR ST., 2700 block, 2 p.m. July 9 to 6:30 a.m. July 11. A laptop computer was stolen from an office in a warehouse.

24TH ST. S., 500 block, 12:01 to 7 a.m. July 9. Food from a refrigerator in a residence was eaten. The home was entered by breaking a window.

28TH ST. S., 4200 block, 6 p.m. July 7 to 6 a.m. July 8. A TV-VCR unit, a computer printer and a laptop computer were stolen from an office.
