Prescription Program

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health now offers the Prescription Discount Program to all county residents, regardless of age and income, who seek assistance with the cost of prescription drugs or medical supplies. There is no enrollment fee or monthly charge.

Participants receive a ScriptSave discount card, which can be used at participating area pharmacies and for mail-order services for brand name and generic drugs, vision exams, eyewear, contact lenses, hearing exams and supplies; diabetic and respiratory supplies; and home medical equipment and supplies.

Yoga and Pilates Classes

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center, 301 Hospital Dr. in Glen Burnie, will offer yoga, Pilates and yoga, and Pilates combination classes beginning Aug. 1.

Each class will be taught by a certified instructor and will be limited to 20 participants. Classes will run for five consecutive weeks, and advance registration is required for all five weeks of the session.

The cost of the session is $25. Cash or check payments will be accepted.

Free Health Screenings

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center's storefront at Arundel Mills, 7000 Arundel Mills Cir. in Hanover, is offering free blood pressure screenings on six dates next month: 9-11 a.m. Aug. 1, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Aug. 4, 9-10:30 a.m. Aug. 8, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Aug. 18, 9-10:30 a.m. Aug. 22, and 9-10:30 a.m. Aug. 23.
