Eugene Peterson, a member of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, has been elected to serve as member representative of the the board of directors for the National Parent Teacher Association. He will fill one of five seats on the board of directors, and his two-year term will expire in June 2007. Peterson, who lives in Laurel, was appointed to serve a five-year term as the District 32 representative on the county school board in 2002.

Diana Strohecker has been selected as one of 22 school administrators around the country to take part in the J. William Fulbright Administrator Exchange Program. Strohecker, principal at Millersville Elementary School, will spend six weeks next spring observing the autism program at Shakespeare Junior School in Hampshire, England.

Old Mill Senior High School Class of 1999 will hold a belated five-year reunion 7:30 p.m.-midnight Aug. 5 at Blob's Park, 8024 Blob's Park Rd. in Jessup. There will be a DJ, buffet dinner, dessert and drinks. The cost is $30 per person. Those interested in attending should e-mail omhs99@gmail.com.
