Driving Hot Spots

Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.

1. Old Georgetown Road

Right lanes both ways closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Capital Beltway and West Cedar Lane.

2. Muncaster Mill Road

Closed for at least four weeks between Sweetbirch Drive and Norbeck Road.

3. Colesville Road

Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays from Sligo Creek Parkway to Georgia Avenue.

4. Capital Beltway (inner loop)

Left lane closed 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday through Thursday between the Montgomery and Prince George's county line and Greenbelt Road.

5. Annapolis Road

Right lane closed in both directions weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Enterprise Road to Bell Station Road.

6. Capital Beltway

Intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in both directions between Route 210 and Route 5 Monday through Friday.

7. Capital Beltway (inner loop)

Left lane closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Washington Street bridge and Route 1 interchange Monday through Thursday.

8. Capital Beltway (inner loop)

Connector road on Interstate 95/495 south closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday just west of the ramp to Route 1 south. Route 1 ramps to inner loop closed.

9. Capital Beltway (outer loop)

Two right lanes, then two left lanes closed Tuesday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Interstate 295 and Route 210.

10. Interstate 295

Right lane closed Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between District line and Interstate 95/495.

11. Interstate 95 North

One or two lanes closed Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 pm to 5 a.m. on I-95 north from Springfield-Franconia Parkway to Capital Beltway.

12. Springfield Interchange

Possible HOV lane closures Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon, on Interstate 395/95 from Franconia-Springfield Parkway to Edsall Road. Possible night closures.

Transit Update

Metro said it is enhancing reliability of electronic information displays on station platforms by installing software in monitors to alert officials to a malfunction.
