ASSAULTS

BRADDOCK RD. E., 500 block, 11:45 p.m. July 16. A man, 20, was shot in the face with a BB gun.

EDSALL RD., 5700 block, 1:30 to 1:45 a.m. July 19. A male in a parking lot with two other males asked a man, 41, for cash. When he refused, he was struck on the head. The victim went inside a convenience store and told a clerk to call police. The three males entered the store, assaulted him and fled. He was treated for a sprained arm and other injuries at a hospital.

JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 3100 block, 11:05 p.m. July 14. A man, 36, was shot twice in the shoulder with a BB gun. He reportedly refused medical treatment.

MOUNT VERNON AVE., 3800 block, 2:55 a.m. July 16. A male, 16, was knocked down, kicked and punched during a fight involving several people. Police stopped a vehicle that had been driven away from the scene, and an Alexandria male, 21, was charged with malicious wounding.

MOUNT VERNON AVENUE, 4000 block, 12:45 a.m. July 17. A man, 43, and a friend were sitting at a bus stop, heard a noise and discovered he had been shot by a BB gun. The man was taken to a hospital.

REED AVE. E., 1 to 100 block, 12:27 a.m. July 17. A man, 38, was sitting on his porch when he saw a moving Jeep Cherokee, and an occupant of the vehicle shot a BB gun, injuring his face. A medic unit treated him at the scene. An Alexandria man, 18, was charged with malicious wounding.

ROBBERIES

KNOLE CT., 5300 block, 8:45 to 10:30 p.m. July 19. While riding in a car, a male robbed the male driver, 18, of cash at gunpoint, then fled with another male in another vehicle.

MONTGOMERY ST., 1 to 100 block, 3 to 3:11 a.m. July 14. A male asked for change from a man, 66, who was walking his dogs, and a second male accosted him from behind and struck him. Two other males joined them, forced the man to the ground, punched and kicked him and robbed him of items from his pocket. The robbers then fled. The man suffered a cut to his head and some scrapes. He was taken to a hospital.

SOUTH COLUMBUS AND GIBBONS STREETS, 5 a.m. July 16. A male accosted a male motorist, 37, while he was stopped at a traffic light, implied he was armed with a weapon and robbed him of cash.

WASHINGTON ST. S., 900 block, 3:40 a.m. July 17. A male robbed a man, 28, of cash at gunpoint.

TANEY AVE., 4300 block, 3:22 to 3:27 a.m. July 14. Five males accosted a male pedestrian, 30, and hit him on his back. One of the males demanded money and another took cash from his pocket. The robbers fled, and the man ran to a nearby gas station and called police. He was taken to a hospital.

VAN DORN ST. S., 100 block, 2:30 to 3 a.m. July 12. Two males, one armed with a gun, accosted two men, both age 22, walking out of a stairwell in an apartment complex and ordered them back into the stairwell. The males took a pack of cigarettes from one victim, pushed the other down stairs and fled. The second victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a facial cut and other injuries.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ASCOT CT., 5500 block, 6:30 p.m. July 12 to 7:15 a.m. July 13. Electronic equipment and a cash box were stolen from a business.

EDSALL RD., 5900 block, 10:30 p.m. July 13 to 5:30 p.m. July 14. A TV was stolen from a residence.

JEFFERSON ST., 1100 block, 9:30 p.m. July 15 to 8:30 a.m. July 16. Cash was stolen from vending machines at a business. The building was entered by forcing a window.

MONCURE DR., 200 block, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 14. Electronic equipment was stolen from a residence.

MORGAN ST. N., 5400 block, 6:15 a.m. July 12 to 8:20 p.m. July 14. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

MOUNT VERNON AVE., 3800 block, 8 p.m. July 12 to 10 a.m. July 13. Cash, clothing and other property were stolen from a business entered by breaking a window and forcing a door.

SKYHILL RD., 300 block, 10:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. July 12. Cash, electronic equipment and other property were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a door.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

COLONIAL AVE., 1000 block, 8 p.m. July 14 to 8 a.m. July 15. A gold 1993 Ford Crown Victoria was stolen.

FOUR MILE RD., 600 block, 6 to 10 p.m. July 15. A white 1992 Lincoln Continental was stolen.

HOLMES RUN PKWY., 5300 block, 6 p.m. July 11 to 8 a.m. July 12. A maroon 1999 Plymouth Voyager van was stolen.

JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 3100 block, 8 to 8:41 p.m. July 14. A silver 2004 Jeep Liberty was stolen.

JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 3500 block, 9 p.m. July 14 to 12:30 a.m. July 15. A tan 2004 Dodge Intrepid was stolen.

JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 3600 block, 7 p.m. July 15 to 12:40 a.m. July 16. A red 2002 Dodge Intrepid was stolen.

LUNA PARK DR., 200 block, 1 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. July 16. A 2004 Jeep Liberty was stolen.

LUNA PARK DR., 200 block, 4 a.m. July 16 to 3:43 p.m. July 17. A red Dodge Caravan was stolen.

MARIS AVE., 5200 block, 10 p.m. July 15 to 8:30 a.m. July 16. A green 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

MAYFLOWER CT., 5900 block, 12:01 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. July 15. A brown 1985 Honda Accord was stolen.

MOUNT VERNON AVE., 1700 block, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 19. A silver 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen.

VERNON AVE., 1000 block, 9:35 p.m. July 16 to 12:10 a.m. July 17. A dark blue Jeep Cherokee was stolen.

HOMICIDES

VACATION LANE, 3600 block, 1:52 p.m. July 15. Police investigating a homicide found the body of Maria Teresa Dela Cruz Escoto, 40, beheaded at a residence. An Arlington man, 21, was charged with homicide.

ASSAULTS

EADS ST. S., 1200 block, 6:40 a.m. July 17. A woman entered an apartment and hit a female resident on the head with a wine bottle. The intruder fled out a window, and police found her standing on a ledge. A woman, 31, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary and malicious wounding.

LINCOLN ST. N., 800 block, 11:34 p.m. July 16. A female approached a man and a woman sitting on a park bench and struck the woman on the head with a wine bottle. The victim was taken to Virginia Hospital Center, and a female, 49, of no fixed address, was charged with malicious wounding.

ROOSEVELT ST. N., 1700 block, 1 to 2 a.m. July 14. Two males assaulted a man walking on a bike trail. The man was taken to a hospital.

ROBBERIES

EADS ST. S., 1900 block, 4:09 a.m. July 16. A male with a gun approached a man and a woman who had been in a car that had just been parked. The robber ordered the man to empty his pockets. A second male appeared, and the robbers took the car and cash.

FORT MYER DR. N., 1900 block, 1:33 p.m. July l6. A gunman robbed three people in a women's restroom at a hotel.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

RANDOLPH ST. S., 3000 block, midnight July 17 to 7:45 a.m. July 18. Cash was stolen from an apartment.

WASHINGTON BLVD. N., 6800 block, 1:06 to 1:13 a.m. July 19. A residence was entered by kicking a basement door, and occupants heard noises and hid in a bedroom closet. The intruder fled after discovering the home was occupied. Nothing was reported missing.

16TH ST. S., 2800 block, 1 to 5:41 p.m. July 17. Cash, liquor and a telephone were stolen from a residence.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

THIRD RD. N., 4100 block, 10:15 p.m. July 14. Three men were observed looking into apartment windows. A Woodbridge man, 39, was charged with peeping.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

BARTON ST. S., 1200 block. A beige 1995 Honda Accord was stolen.

PERSHING DR. N., 4300 block. A green 1995 Dodge Caravan was stolen.
