Man Dies After Attack A Forestville man died yesterday after being attacked over the weekend in District Heights, Prince George's County police said.

Reginald Williams, 42, of the 7000 block of Whitney Place was found unconscious about 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Lorring Drive, police said.

Police said Williams was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead yesterday.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case, police said.


* A 23-year-old man was fatally shot yesterday afternoon in Chillum, Prince George's County police said. They said it was the 101st homicide in the county this year.

The man was found shortly after 4 p.m. behind a building at Guilford Road and University Boulevard, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman.

Several hours later, police investigating the killing took into custody two men who were barricaded inside a house in Chillum, police said. As of late last night, no charges had been filed.


Two NE Slayings D.C. police are investigating two unrelated killings that occurred early yesterday in Northeast Washington, authorities said.

The first slaying was reported about 3:55 a.m. when a shooting victim was brought to Washington Hospital Center by a friend, authorities said.

Police said the victim, Launell Hall, 26, of no known address, had been shot in the 1600 block of Lyman Place NE.

Three masked gunmen approached Hall, and one pulled out a handgun and opened fire, police said.

The three men fled in a white vehicle, police said. Hall died at the hospital.

About 5:15 a.m., police found Rowena Ward-Bachelor, 37, in the hallway of her apartment building in the unit block of S Street NE. She had been shot several times, police said.

Police urged anyone with information to call them at 202-727-9099. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered in homicides.
