'Dead Animal' Had Playful Past

ELLICOTT ST., 4000 block, July 27. A caller reported that a dead animal of an undetermined species was in the back yard of a house. An animal control officer found an old rawhide toy used by the homeowner's dog.

Baby Squirrels Found Near Tree

TANEY AVENUE AND NORTH JORDAN STREET, July 26. Two baby squirrels were found on the ground near a tree from which they might have fallen. Animal control took them to the city shelter, and they were later released to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Snake Dies Outside House

FORDS LANDING, 700 block, July 23. A black snake died on a driveway. It was taken to the city shelter for disposal.

Dead Fawn Outside Business

WHEELER AVE., 3800 block, July 26. The body of a fawn was found in front of a business in an industrial area. Animal control took it to the city shelter for disposal.
