On Aug. 13, the church will hold a talent show in which members of the congregation will present music, comedy, poetry and line-dancing and display photography, needlework, paintings and drawings. A camp meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21 during August Court Days at the Virginia Old Stone Church site at the corner of Cornwell and Liberty streets in Leesburg. Camp meetings were introduced in the United States in the 18th century and gained popularity in the early 19th century. These outdoor revival meetings featured circuit-riding evangelists. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. F.W. "Chip" Giessler, senior pastor at Evergreen United Methodist Church in Leesburg. Choirs from several local churches and the Chorus of the Old Dominion, a Loudoun-based barbershop group, will sing. Free. 703-777-6950.
