Boathouse Fire A fire was set yesterday at Jack's Boathouse in Georgetown for the second time in less than a month, authorities said.

Fire officials said the blaze, set about 2 a.m., damaged about 10 canoes and some of the dock. The earlier fire was July 19. Fire officials urged anyone with information to call them at 866-91-ARSON.

Murder Sentence A 22-year-old man was sentenced yesterday by D.C. Superior Court Judge Judith E. Retchin to 48 years in prison for the March 2002 murder of a modeling agency executive, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Markus D. Johnson, an aspiring model, had been convicted of killing Michael J. Myers, the founder and owner of Washington Models Inc. and the man Johnson was counting on to line up modeling jobs for him, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Frustrated by the lack of opportunities coming his way, Johnson, of the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road SE, went to the agency's office on 13th Street NW in the early evening of March 17, 2002, to complain and attacked Myers, 47, with a hacksaw and other tools, prosecutors said.

Robbery Suspect Charged A Mount Rainier man was arrested and charged in the July 13 robbery of an armored truck courier at a Bank of America branch in Silver Spring, Montgomery County police said.

Police arrested Randy Sean Harris, 40, at his home Wednesday in the 4300 block of Russell Avenue and charged him with armed robbery, first-degree assault and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.

Homicide Arrest Prince George's police said they have arrested a 20-year-old Capitol Heights man in connection with a June 28 homicide on Landover Road.

Cordell N. Chase of the 300 block of Milfan Drive was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of William A. Jones. Police found Jones shot in the 7500 block of Landover Road.

Police said the two men had been arguing before Jones was shot.
