Go for Property Tax Credit
Montgomery County officials are urging eligible homeowners to take advantage of the county's expanded property tax credit program and apply by the Sept. 1 deadline.
A household with an income of less than $55,000 annually can apply for a credit that averages $900.
"Everyone needs property tax fairness but especially those on fixed incomes or those who may be house-rich but cash-poor," Council President Tom Perez (D-Silver Spring) said in a statement. "This expanded tax credit can help more county residents in a bigger way."
