HOMICIDES

LYMAN PL., 1600 block, 3:55 a.m. Aug. 1. Launell Hall, 26, of no fixed address, was found on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.

SIXTH ST., 5700 block, 8:30 a.m. Waverly Martin, 55, of the 1200 block of West Michigan Street, Southern Pines, N.C., was found on a street with gunshot wounds.

MILLS AVE., 2900 block, 11:10 p.m. July 30. James Mims, 28, of the 2400 block of Hamlin Street NE, was found on a street with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Howard University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

S ST., 1-99 block, 5:15 a.m. Aug. 1. Rowena Ward-Bachelor, 37, of the unit block of S Street NE, was found in an apartment building with gunshot wounds. She was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

AMES ST., 4000 block, 2 a.m. July 8. A sexual assault occurred in a residence.

U ST., 100 block, 10:20 p.m. July 29. Two males assaulted a female in an alley and attempted to force her to perform a sexual act.

18TH ST., 3600 block, July 1. A sexual assault occurred in a residence.

ROBBERIES

BENNING RD., 4100 block, 11 a.m. to 11:01 a.m. Aug. 1. Three males assaulted a pedestrian and took cash.

BLADENSBURG RD., 2800 block, 4:40 a.m. Aug. 3. A male attempted to take money from a cash register when an employee tried to complete a transaction.

F ST., 500 block, 2:20 a.m. July 30. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed a male entering a residence of property.

FLORIDA AVE., 100 block, 8:45 to 8:46 p.m. June 4. A robbery occurred.

H ST., 800 block, 2 p.m. July 25. A male robbed a female pedestrian of property.

HAYES ST., 4900 block, 3:50 to 3:52 p.m. Aug. 3. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed two pedestrians in an alley.

I ST., 1800 block, 12:50 a.m. Aug. 1. Two gunmen got out of a vehicle and robbed a pedestrian of keys, clothes, a cell phone and a wallet.

MINNESOTA AVE., 4900 block, 5 p.m. July 30. Two males got out of a vehicle and asked a pedestrian about the pedestrian's shoe size. The pedestrian fled but was caught. No further information was provided by police.

MORSE ST., 1400 block, 1:15 p.m. Aug. 3. A male robbed a person in a residence of cash.

MOUNT OLIVET RD., 1259 block, 6:10 to 6:15 p.m. Aug. 2. A male assaulted a male pedestrian and took bags containing clothes and a cassette tape.

QUEENS CHAPEL RD., 2200 block, 3:15 a.m. July 31. A gunman and a male accomplice ordered two people to get out of a vehicle and robbed them of jewelry. The robbers fled in a vehicle.

ROCK CREEK CHURCH RD., 5000 block, 12:40 a.m. Aug. 3. Two gunmen robbed three pedestrians of a check and wallet.

V ST., 500 block, 5:40 a.m. July 29. A gunman and a male accomplice approached a male driver of a vehicle and robbed him of cash.

WEST VIRGINIA AVE., 1900 block, 1:50 a.m. July 29. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed two people in a vehicle of keys, cash, a wallet and a cell phone.

HOMICIDES

ARKANSAS AVE., 4000 block, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 3. An unidentified male was found in a truck with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office, where he was pronounced dead.

KENNEDY ST., 400 block, 4:15 a.m. July 30. Samari Young, 30, of the 8100 block of 15th Avenue, Hyattsville, was found at a residence with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office, where he was pronounced dead.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GEORGIA AVE., 2000 block, 9:30 p.m. July 31 to 1:45 a.m. Aug. 1. A male wearing hospital scrubs woke a patient in a medical facility by touching his genitals.

PARKWOOD PL., 1400 block, 5:15 to 5:25 p.m. Aug. 4. A man sexually assaulted a pedestrian in an alley at knifepoint.

13TH ST., 2300 block, Aug. 30. A male touched the breast of a female in a wheelchair on the sidewalk. She shouted, and he fled.

ROBBERIES

ADAMS MILL RD., 3200 block, 6 a.m. Aug. 1. Two male teenagers demanded cash from a female pedestrian. She tried to run away, but they punched and kicked her. She fell, and the males took a backpack, a wallet, shoes, a computer disk and keys.

ARGONNE PL., 1600 block, to 4:35 a.m. Aug. 3. Two men, one with a knife, robbed a male pedestrian of a cell phone, cash, a credit card and a debit card. The robbers fled in a vehicle.

BELMONT ST., 1400 block, 12:45 a.m. Aug. 2. A man implying he was armed with a weapon robbed a pedestrian.

BLAIR RD. AND PEABODY ST., 10:15 to 10:25 p.m. July 29. A male with a knife and a male with a gun robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet and a driver's permit.

COLUMBIA RD., 1600 block, 5:50 a.m. Aug. 1. Two boys grabbed a female pedestrian and snatched he purse. They forced her to the ground, injuring her ankle. The boys fled with a wallet.

COLUMBIA RD., 1600 block, 7 a.m. Aug. 4. A man snatched property from a male pedestrian and fled with another male.

COLUMBIA RD., 1700 block, 3 a.m. July 30. Three males approached a vehicle in an alley. One pointed a gun at the driver and said, "Empty your pockets." He and his accomplices took the vehicle and two cell phones.

EUCLID ST., 1500 block, 9:05 a.m. Aug. 3. A male implied he was armed with a weapon and robbed a bicyclist.

FAIRMONT ST. AND UNIVERSITY PL., 6:15 a.m. July 30. A male passenger of a taxi robbed the driver at gunpoint, saying "Give me forty dollars. All I need is forty dollars. Don't do anything foolish." The driver complied, and the robber fled.

FAIRMONT ST., 700 block, 12:40 a.m. July 31. A pizza deliveryman was robbed by two males while making a delivery.

FAIRMONT ST., 1000 block, 12:20 a.m. Aug. 1. A gunman accompanied by another man demanded a pedestrian's wallet. The pedestrian flagged down a police car, and two men, 19 and 21, were arrested.

FULLER ST., 1500 block, 12:30 a.m. July 31. Seven male teenagers approached a pedestrian. One robbed him of a wallet at gunpoint.

GEORGIA AVE. AND LAMONT ST., 11 p.m. July 30 to 5:53 p.m. July 31. While talking to two female pedestrians, a male lent one of them his cell phone. The other woman pushed and punched him. The phone was taken.

GEORGIA AVE., 3000 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 3. A male in a bus took a wallet from the pocket of a passenger, then left the bus and ran north on Georgia Avenue.

H ST., 1-99 block, 5:10 p.m. Aug. 1. A male snatched property from a pedestrian.

I ST., 1400 block, Aug. 4. A man snatched property from a female pedestrian and fled.

KENNEDY ST., 1-99 block, 6 p.m. July 31. A man snatched cigarettes and beer from a female on the street.

KENNEDY ST., 1400 block, 4:50 p.m. July 29. A man parked his bike in an alley and approached a 34-year-old woman. He snatched a wallet, credit cards and keys from her, then fled on the bike.

KENYON ST. AND PARK PL., 7:55 a.m. July 31. A male teenager got out of a vehicle and took a scooter from a person at gunpoint.

KENYON ST., 1300 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 1. A male demanded cash from a pedestrian in an alley and hit him. A male accomplice was with the robber. No further information was provided by police.

LANIER PL. AND ONTARIO RD., 1 a.m. Aug. 4. Two men snatched clothes and other property from a female pedestrian.

LANIER PL., 1700 block, 2:25 a.m. Aug. 2. Two pedestrians were robbed by three men who approached from behind. One said, "Give me the money and don't look at my face." He then showed a gun. The robbers fled with a purse, a passport, a wallet and credit cards.

M ST., 1-99 block, 9:10 p.m. Aug. 4. Two male teenagers approached a pedestrian. One put the pedestrian in a headlock, forced the victim to the ground and took a wallet.

MARIETTA PL., 800 block, 2:30 a.m. Aug. 1. Three men approached a 58-year-old man sitting in his vehicle. One put a gun to the driver's head and said, "Don't turn your head. Give me all the money." One of the other men entered the car and took a camera, a wallet and a DVD player.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE., 4900 block, 1:40 to 1:41 p.m. July 29. A man entered a bank and displayed a piece of paper that said, "Blow up." A teller handed over property, and the man walked out.

MORGAN ST., 200 block, 4:30 to 5 a.m. June 24. A robbery occurred on the street. No further information was provided by police.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 1700 block, 9:55 a.m. Aug. 2. A gunman demanded cash from three pedestrians in an alley. One said no and was hit. A license, a wallet, a passport and a credit card were taken.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 5000 block, 6:48 p.m. July 29. A gunman robbed a 58-year-old male pedestrian of a wallet and lottery tickets.

NEW JERSEY AVE., 1700 block, 2:50 to 2:53 a.m. July 30. A vehicle occupied by three men was driven into a service station. Two occupants had guns. One got out and searched through someone's pockets, taking cigarettes. He then returned to the vehicle. No further information was provided by police.

O ST., 1000 block, 7:35 p.m. July 31. Four male teenagers tried to rob a male pedestrian. One covered the pedestrian's eyes while two others held his arms and the fourth tried to search through his pockets. Nothing was reported taken.

O ST., 3000 block, 10:20 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 1. A man with a knife robbed a male pedestrian of a bag, a wallet, cash, a cell phone and a passport. The robber fled with another male.

R ST., 1400 block, 3:32 a.m. July 30. A man robbed someone in an apartment lobby.

ROCK CREEK FORD RD., 1400 block, 12:52 a.m. Aug. 3. Two males approached a car as the driver got out. One put a gun to the driver's ribs and took a wallet from the driver's pocket.

S ST., 1300 block, 2 a.m. July 30. A male tackled a pedestrian and took property from the victim's pocket.

SHEPHERD ST., 1300 block, 10:20 p.m. Aug. 2. A male put a gun to a pedestrian's head and demanded money. He fled without obtaining anything. A male was arrested.

SHERMAN AVE., 2600 block, 11:20 Aug. 4. A man on a bicycle approached a female pedestrian in an alley and put a gun to her back. Another person approached and the robber told the person to approach him. No further information was provided by police.

UPTON ST., 2900 block, 1 to 1:10 a.m. Aug. 3. A robbery occurred on the street.

VAN BUREN ST., 300 block, 5:10 to 5:15 p.m. Aug. 4. A male teenager demanded a bike from someone locking one at a government building. The teenager beat the bicycle owner and took the bike.

FIRST AND CHANNING STREETS, 11:40 p.m. Aug. 1. A vehicle stopped and a male got out and demanded a bike from a rider. The robber, who was holding a screwdriver, pushed the rider off and fled on the bike.

NINTH ST., 700 block, 11:25 p.m. July 29. A man took a purse from the back of a female's chair at a restaurant and fled into a restroom. When he came out, the female saw the man with her purse. When the robber realized he had been seen, he returned the purse.

14TH AND KENNEDY STREETS, 7:10 a.m. July 29. A male teenager demanded cash from a female on the street. She refused and sprayed pepper at his face. Another male teenager punched the female in the face and a third put his hand in her pocket. The three teenagers fled without obtaining anything.

14TH ST., 1800 block, 1 to 6:19 p.m. July 31. Two men entered a market and took property.

14TH ST., 3819 block, 5:20 a.m. July 30. A man approached a male trying to enter a home from an alley. The man said, "Excuse me, sir," and put an object to the male's back. He took a phone and fled.

14TH ST., 6300 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 3. A male took car keys from a female standing outside her car. He pushed her to the ground and took the car.

15TH ST., 2200 block, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 31. A man snatched a purse from a pedestrian and fled in a car.

15TH ST., 2300 block, 2:40 p.m. Aug. 2. A group of people attacked a male in a park area. His sneakers were taken.

15TH ST., 2400 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 1. A man implied he was armed with a weapon and demanded cash from two people as they entered Meridian Hill Park. He said he didn't want credit cards. No further information was provided by police.

16TH ST. AND MILITARY RD., 6:45 a.m. Aug. 4. A male passenger of a car showed a knife and put a bandanna around his face. He then told the driver he was a robber, and the driver started to drive faster. The passenger then said, "I don't want to go to jail" and threw the knife. No further information was provided by police.

16TH ST., 2800 block, 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4. Two males with knives demanded a gold necklace from another man, threatening to stab him. No further information was provided by police.

18TH ST., 2400 block, 1:10 p.m. July 30. A man entered a business and asked for merchandise. When a clerk opened a cash register to accept payment, he showed a gun and said, "Give me all the money." The cashier complied. The man demanded a safe. A cell phone was taken. No further information was provided by police.

19TH ST., 1800 block, 4:45 p.m. July 31. A man threatened a pedestrian and demanded property. The pedestrian refused, and the man fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ARKANSAS AVE., 4800 block, 5 p.m. July 29 to 9 a.m. Aug. 1. Two air conditioners were taken from a medical facility entered by forcing a rear door.

ARKANSAS AVE., 4800 block, 5 p.m. July 28 to 9 a.m. July 29. A stereo was taken from a house entered by prying a basement bathroom window.

CLIFTON ST., 1400 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 2 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 3. Kitchen cabinets and a chest containing tools were taken from a home entered by breaking a front-door lock.

DAVENPORT ST., 2900 block, 10:45 to 10:50 a.m. July 31. Someone entered an open garage and took property. Residents were working in the front yard.

DUMBARTON ST., 3100 block, 4:55 to 4:56 a.m. July 31. A male entered a home through an unlocked back door and took a purse. A resident heard noise, found the male and chased him out.

EMERSON ST., 1400 block, noon July 20 to 2 p.m. Aug. 3. Property was taken from a home entered by smashing a rear basement window.

FLORIDA AVE., 100 block, 2 to 6 p.m. July 30. A DVD player, a CD player, cash and money orders were taken from a home entered by smashing a rear window.

FLORIDA AVE., 2000 block, 4:55 a.m. July 31. A man smashed a front window of a liquor store and was seen inside the store holding a bag containing property. He left the store without the property.

GRESHAM PL., 600 block, 5:25 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4. A man entered a home and took three videotapes, a calculator and a digital camera, then fled through an alley.

HAMILTON ST., 300 block, 2 p.m. Aug. 1 to 12:30 a.m. Aug. 2. Property was taken from an apartment entered through a bedroom window.

L ST., 1900 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 1 to 8 a.m. Aug. 2. A front-door lock was broken at an office building. The office was not entered.

WISCONSIN AVE., 4200 block, 5:31 a.m. July 29. A front-door lock at a restaurant was popped out and a side door in a dining area was forced open. Nothing was reported stolen.

WISCONSIN AVE., 4400 block, 6 p.m. July 28 to 8:45 a.m. July 29. Property was taken from a change machine in a specialty store entered by prying a front-door lock.

WISCONSIN AVE., 4800 block, 4 to 7:45 a.m. July 29. Property was taken from a specialty store entered by removing a window. An alarm system and a cordless phone were damaged.

FOURTH ST., 1200 block, 8:20 to 10:40 a.m. Aug. 2. A front door of a home was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

NINTH ST., 1300 block, 7:30 p.m. July 30 to 7 a.m. July 31. Pastries were taken from a restaurant entered by smashing a side window.

13TH ST., 4000 block, 10:30 p.m. July 2. Two males tried to kick in an apartment door. They fled when a resident approached from inside.

14TH ST., 5200 block, 6:15 p.m. Aug. 4. An air conditioner and other property were taken from a home entered by prying a rear window.

16TH ST., 3100 block, 3 p.m. July 30 to 6 a.m. Aug. 1. Power tools were taken from a construction site.

18TH ST., 1200 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 3. A laptop computer was taken from an office building entered by breaking a front-door lock. An office door lock was also broken.

18TH ST., 1700 block, 3:30 p.m. July 28 to 6:30 a.m. July 29. Property was taken from a construction site entered by prying a door.

18TH ST., 1700 block, 2:30 p.m. July 29 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 1. Tools were taken from a box at a construction site. A padlock on the box was broken, and the site was entered through an open garage.

B ST., 3500 block, 12:32 a.m. July 31. Robert Smith, 35, of the 3500 block of B Street SE, was found on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office, where he was pronounced dead.

ROBBERIES

ALABAMA AVE., 2400 block, 4 to 4:15 p.m. Aug. 2. Two males assaulted a male cyclist and robbed him of a bicycle after making negative remarks about his neighborhood.

ALABAMA AVE., 2800 block, 3:56 to 4:05 p.m. Aug. 3. A gunman demanded cash from a convenience store employee who opened a cash register to complete a transaction.

BARNABY TER., 1383 block, 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. Aug. 3. Three males assaulted and robbed two pedestrians.

CONGRESS ST., 1300 block, 4 to 4:05 a.m. July 31. A gunman and a male accomplice approached a vehicle and demanded property from a male driver. The driver was shot in the stomach when he attempted to flee.

D ST., 5049 block, 7:40 to 7:44 a.m. July 29. Two gunmen got out of a vehicle, ordered several people to the ground and robbed them of a cell phone.

EATON AND FIRTH STERLING AVENUES, 10:15 p.m. Aug. 1. A male robbed a male pedestrian of a cell phone.

GALEN ST., 1600 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 1. A gunman approached the male driver of vehicle and demanded the vehicle and cash. The driver shut his window on the robber's hand. No further information was provided by police.

GOOD HOPE RD., 1412 block, 7 p.m. July 17. A gunman demanded cash from a restaurant employee. The employee complied. The robber damaged a video camera and fled.

GOOD HOPE RD., 2441 block, 12:15 to 12:20 p.m. Aug. 3. A male snatched property from a person waiting in a line.

LANGSTON PL., 2734 block, 3:50 a.m. Aug. 1. Several people assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 2800 block, 5:05 to 5:50 a.m. July 28. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of cash.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE. AND TALBERT ST., 10:20 to 10:26 p.m. Aug. 3. A gunman assaulted a male cyclist and took his backpack.

NAYLOR RD., 2600 block, 1:30 to 1:35 a.m. Aug. 1. Three male cyclists robbed a female pedestrian of property.

P AND SOUTH CAPITOL STREETS, 2:40 a.m. Aug. 2. A gunman and a male accomplice entered a vehicle, assaulted a male driver and forced him from the vehicle. No further information was provided by police.

PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 2500 block, 2:58 to 3:04 p.m. Aug. 1. A gunman entered a booth at a service station, fired a bullet and demanded cash from an employee. The employee complied. No injuries were reported.

SHANNON PL., 2400 block, 5:30 to 5:53 p.m. Aug. 4. A male got out of a vehicle and robbed a female driver of her vehicle.

SOUTH CAROLINA AVE., 900 block, 9:05 to 9:15 a.m. Aug. 1. A male impersonating a police officer demanded a purse from a pedestrian. No further information was provided by police.

WAHLER AND WHEELER ROADS, 1:15 a.m. Aug. 4. Three gunmen and a male accomplice robbed a male driver of his vehicle.

WHEELER RD., 4139 block, 11 p.m. July 29. A male with a knife and a male accomplice assaulted a male pedestrian and took cash.

EIGHTH AND C STREETS, 10:50 p.m. Aug. 3. A boy with a knife and a male accomplice attempted to rob two pedestrians of property. The pedestrians fled, and no property was reported taken. A boy, 13, was arrested.

EIGHTH ST., 409 block, 3:50 p.m. July 27. A male snatched property from a female relative in a restaurant.

13TH ST. AND MISSISSIPPI AVE., 5:30 p.m. July 31. Two males ordered a male in a park area to the ground and snatched a bag containing a bank card.

13TH AND V STREETS, 5:30 a.m. Aug. 4. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed a pedestrian of a book bag containing a cell phone and a wallet.

14TH AND V STREETS, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 1. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed a male pedestrian of property.

18TH ST., 3300 block, 1 a.m. July 30. A male snatched a purse containing credit cards and a cell phone from a pedestrian.

23RD ST., 3400 block, 4:30 to 4:35 a.m. Aug. 3. Two gunmen robbed two pedestrians of keys and a cell phone, then fled in a vehicle.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLAKNEY LANE, 4018 block, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1. A residence was entered by breaking a rear window and ransacked.

JASPER ST., 2723 block, 11:42 p.m. Aug. 3. A male forced his way into a bedroom at a residence and assaulted a female resident.

SAVANNAH ST., 1931 block, 8 p.m. July 27 to 11 a.m. July 28. Property was stolen from a store entered by breaking a glass door.

TALBERT ST., 1204 block, 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 1. Property was stolen from a residence entered with a key.

SEVENTH ST., 403 block, 4:40 to 8:45 a.m. July 29. Property was stolen from a government building entered by prying bars from a bathroom window.

45TH PL., 1123 block, 11:30 p.m. July 29 to 12:30 p.m. July 30. A DVD player was stolen from a residence entered by kicking a rear door.

K ST., 200 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 3. A man used a sword to pry a rear door of an acquaintance's home. Property was taken. A man, 37, was arrested.

S ST., 1-99 block, 4 p.m. July 29 to 4 p.m. July 31. Tools, a wrench, a water pump and a CD player were taken from a construction site entered by forcing a door.
