ROBBERY

CLARKSVILLE PIKE, 12200 block, 6:52 p.m. Aug. 4. A man grabbed a woman's purse. After a struggle, the man struck the woman in the face, then fled with the purse. He was seen getting into a green SUV.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CLARKSVILLE PIKE, 12100 block, 2:41 a.m. Aug. 9. A pitching machine was taken from a high school. Police, responding to an alarm, saw four juveniles running from the school. Four youths were arrested.

NICHOLS DR., 13700 block, 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Aug 8. A laptop computer and jewelry were taken from a home entered by cutting and removing a window screen, then opening an unlocked window.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

AUTO DR., 12400 block, 10:44 a.m. Aug. 6. A Cadillac Eldorado was stolen.

Columbia Area

ROBBERY

CRADLEROCK WAY, 6700 block, 6:36 p.m. Aug. 5. Four youths playing basketball forced a male player to the ground, punched him in the face, and took cash, a bank card, a wallet and his jacket.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BROKEN LAND PKWY., 9800 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 9. Two laptop computers were stolen from office suites entered by breaking the glass on a front door.

BROKEN STAFF, 7300 block, 9:43 p.m. Aug. 8. Two armed men entered a home and forced one person into the living room. Another occupant of the home went to another room, locked the door and called police. The assailants escaped before police arrived.

CAMPFIRE, 6100 block, 8:55 a.m. Aug. 5. Two people dressed in black were seen trying to open a ground-floor sliding back door.

DURHAM RD. W., 5000 block, 5:17 p.m. Aug. 5. Two people attempted to kick in a door to a residence.

HARPERS FARM RD., 5600 block, July 28 to Aug. 2. Jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen from an apartment entered by breaking a side window.

MARBLE FAUN LANE, 10500 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 5 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6. Chemicals and furniture were dumped into a pool, and closets were ransacked at a business.

ROBERT FULTON DR., 8700 block, 9:20 a.m. Aug. 3. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

SUNDOWN TRAIL, 6400 block, July 31 to Aug. 2. Two bikes were stolen from an open garage.

WHITEWASHER WAY, 10300 block, Aug. 2 to 4. Two mountain bikes were stolen from a residence.

EDEN BROOK DR., 7300 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 5. An attempt was made to steal a white 1999 Nissan Maxima.

LITTLE FOXES RUN, 6100 block, 9:59 a.m. Aug. 4. A silver 1999 Honda Civic was stolen. The vehicle was recovered.

OAKLAND MILLS RD., 7100 block, 2:20 p.m. Aug. 7. A blue International bus was stolen.

SNOWDEN SQUARE DR., 9000 block, 1-5:30 p.m. Aug. 6. A 2003 Saturn was stolen.

STEVENS FOREST RD., 5700 block, July 22 to Aug. 4. A multicolored 2003 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen.

TALISMAN LANE, 7100 block, 11:59 p.m. Aug. 4 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6. A white 1994 Plymouth Voyager was stolen.

ROBBERY

MONTGOMERY RD., 7200 block, 12:11 p.m. Aug. 9. Two men got out of a pickup truck and approached a woman in a parking lot, implied they had a gun and announced a robbery. After a brief struggle, the men fled with the woman's purse.

LEVERING AVE., 5500 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 6 to 9 a.m. Aug. 7. A handtruck was taken from a shed entered by breaking two locks off the shed door.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 5800 block, 6:39 a.m. Aug. 7. A safe was stolen from a business entered by knocking a hole in a concrete block in the rear of the building.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 6600 block, 1:35 p.m. Aug. 7. An attempt was made to enter a home by breaking the residence's front door lock and tampering with a rear window.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE, 9300 block, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6 to 8 a.m. Aug. 7. A pressure-washer was taken from a construction-site trailer entered by cutting a door bolt lock.

GROVE RD. W., 8400 block, 6:45 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Property was stolen from an apartment. A Ellicott City man, 20, was arrested.

ROGERS AVE., 3000 block, Aug. 5 to 6. A garden machine was stolen from a shed.

TALL TREES CT., 8200 block, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9. A residence, entered through a basement rear window, was ransacked and spray-painted.

TAMAR DR., 8800 block, 10 a.m. Aug. 8 to 8 a.m. Aug. 9. A rear window was pried off a home, but no entry was made.

WATERLOO RD., 5600 block, Aug. 5 to 8. A 1985 Kawasaki dirt bike and garden equipment were taken from a shed entered by cutting a hasp.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 8100 block, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to 5:45 a.m. Aug. 9. A four-by-eight-foot trailer was stolen from a business entered by cutting locks on two gates.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 8100 block, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to 5:45 a.m. Aug. 9. Two air-compressors and tools were stolen from a business entered by prying open a basement back door. A steering wheel and speakers were stolen from two vehicles parked on the business's lot.

BOURBON ST., 9100 block, 8:54 p.m. Aug. 9. Two men were seen trespassing by a resident and fled. Nothing was reported missing.

CANTERBURY RIDING, 9300 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4 to 9:05 a.m. Aug. 5. An attempt was made to steal a gold 2002 Honda Accord.

LAUREL RD. N., 9000 block, 4 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Aug. 6. A black 2005 Suzuki motorcycle was stolen.

GORMAN RD., 9300 block, 3:25 p.m. Aug. 5. A mobile home was entered. A Washington woman, 41, was arrested and charged on an outstanding burglary warrant.

LINDA CT., 8300 block, 8:01 a.m. Aug. 7. A man forcibly entered a residence. A Savage man, 42, was arrested.
