A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in Virginia in connection with a Charles County robbery and shooting this month.

Carlos A. Watson of Indian Head was charged with attempted murder in the Aug. 5 shooting, in which Christopher R. Juliano, 25, was wounded in the back.

According to charging papers in District Court, the victim met up with Watson and two other men -- Charles M. Shorter Jr., 21, and Joseph T. Thompson, 23 -- behind a restaurant in Indian Head.

Shorter had set up the meeting so he could buy ecstasy from Juliano, the charging papers said. The deal went bad when the three men demanded money and drugs from Juliano, the papers said.

The documents said Watson reached into Juliano's pants pockets to try to take the money and drugs. When Juliano resisted, he was struck in the head and shot in the back, the documents said.

Shorter was arrested hours after the attack. Watson was arrested Friday in Colonial Beach, but a public announcement was not made until Tuesday. He had been hiding from police and was almost caught last Thursday when police searched an Indian Head apartment where he was staying, officials said. According to charging documents, Watson said he hid under fiberglass insulation in the attic as police searched the apartment.

Thompson, who is alleged to be the shooter, is at large.
